Its also possible they are hitting the skids and going out of business, which wouldn't surprise me.

There are a few reasons why a site could be suspended, including operator error. Have you tried calling them in case there is a communication error?

I tried not to let too many people know what they did to me, as previously they had been very good. I used to go around recommending them to everyone. One day they got in some new kid, he found my website and decided that I hadn't paid, but in fact it was because I had paid by Paypal and they kept those records somewhere else. He suspended my site, then each time I emailed, created a support ticket or phoned no one would answer apart from at one specific time of day which was the same each day. If they didn't manage to sort it out then you would have to wait another day. This was over 2 years ago, I moved over to Hostgator as I lost a lot of money from the downtime and it took a while for Google to trust my site again. I was hoping that they would have found a way of improving by now as I did write many letters to them about what happened. Unfortunately they never replied to any.

One thing that they did tell me was the there was a new guy who had made a mistake, but they never did pay me for the lost earnings

No, they're not a very good hosting company but, then again, I've had worse.

So you almost got ruined by picking a bad host and you fixed it by moving to hostgator?

Hostgator doesn't exactly have a stellar reputation either. It's like the Walmart of hosting.

Hostgator have been fantastic, they have 24 hour live support, instead of waiting 24 hours to get a reply to an email. They help me with coding. I haven't got a bad word to say about them

To be honest i tried dwhs as a lark. i had some new domains and figured what the hell, they're cheap and have a decent rep from several board members i'd seen posting about them.

But I know now, i have 3 other hosts which have been great for years and i'm not going to try anyone else. Screw it, its just a pain in the ass.
