oowww fuck ow, I broke my big toe

Fucking oak beam fell on my big toe this afternoon. I left it a bit, went all purple and like a sausage. X-ray confirmed the worse - fracture of one of the bones.

This shit isn't fair cos I can only walk on my heel and I've a ton of shit to do. The wife last year ruptured her achilles tendon last year completely and still walked on it for 2 days before getting it dealt with.

Either the wife is 10 times more pain resistant than me or a broken toe >> ruptured achilles tendon.

Input required, cos shit this hurts and I want to play the sympathy vote at home, but she's having none of it. Thankfully the kids are a lot more sympathetic.

Now before anyone suggests I should have been nicer to my wife when she did her ankle in, I'd like to say I did everything for 4 months straight when she ruptured her tendon....AND during that time, I had a fractured rib, which to this day is in my book the most painful thing on this planet, bnut that's beside the point. I want to know who now is going to build the staircase I was doing now my toe is out of action.... Reciprocal activity is not equal.

Somehow, I don't think GFY is the crowd to turn for for sympathy! Just give me some though, cos this shit hurts like a mofo.

I dropped my computer tower on my big toe last time we moved houses, I was a complete raving asshole for the rest of the day, my poor wife called my mother, who called all my uncles to come help. Cause she/they were scared I was going to rage kill someone.

yeah, it's like that - throbbing like shit. Took a bath after working on the house but that made it throb worse. That's when I got it x-rayed,. Why can't I make it known to the family the best situation where it doesn't hurt is in front of the TV with the foot on a pillow...

It's true. The second I put it down to walk, it hurts like a bitch.

So, it's a sorry situation to be in, but I just have to stay in front of the tv with my foot on a pillow. Why is this wrong????

judging by all the foot fungus you have in that picture, breaking it is the best thing that could of happened to you, hopefully they clean that mess up.

judging by all the foot fungus you have in that picture, breaking it is the best thing that could of happened to you, hopefully they clean that mess up.

That's not foot fungus - simply all the hard skin from walking bare foot all summer breaking down - perfectly normal.

The beam that did the deed is well and fixed in the wall now! Strapped my foot to the hilt today and managed to build the oak staircase cage which is nicely resting on the bastard beam. I love working with wood, esp with a piano piece playing in the background - so therapeutic
