In all seriousness, multiculturalism only works when immigrants are properly indoctrinated into the society they move to. It is also important that they have beliefs and values which, while different, do augment and assist the overall growth of the society they enter.
The problem at hand is that there are immigrant cultures that are not completely compatible with the societies that they want to make their home in. Nevertheless, they are accepted due to the generally embracing nature of democratic nations. Over time, however, the glaring incompatibilities surface as each new generation that descends from these immigrants do jockey for position with the "natives".
A common mistake that many world leaders have made is to believe that Islam is merely another religion to be tolerated, like Christianity. Islam is a way of life and many who LIVE that faith inevitably desire all around them to conform to Islamic rules and standards. While the previous sentences might sound a bit xenophobic, they exemplify truth.
Bottom line: These immigrants are not Christian, like the many immigrants before them who have built modern society (within the realms of the world powers) up to this point. They are Muslim, with an entirely different outlook and set of rules.
Within the next 20-30 years, the (religious) face of the world will change. It is already happening in Europe on a broad scale. In the Western world, the Islamic belief system is catching on like wildfire within some communities, particularly among blacks.

Immigrants have to integrate into a society to be accepted. As Angela Merkel said they have to live side by side. Too many immigrants over the years have refused to do that and formed ghettos, even in free countries.
And it's not recent. Orthodox Jews in Stamford Hill London are a separate society within a larger one. After 100 years of emigrating to England they still remain in a ghetto culture, based on European traditions. Never seen a biblical film of Israel with people wearing fur hats and long coats.
My Great Grandmother was Jewish, when she married outside Judaism her family never spoke to her ever again. As eroticsexxx posted for some their religion is a way of life that transcends the culture and even laws of the country they emigrate to.
Today it's worse with some immigrants struggling to speak English or can't. So there children don't speak it as a first language and struggle to get jobs outside their community. Furthering the ghetto culture.
Discuss it in any way critical and you're branded a racist.
I emigrated to CZ and try hard to fit in, even though my speaking CZ sucks.

There are too many turks in Germany. If you look at the German youtube comedy channel, it's filled with turkish videos only (or at least it was when I last had a look).
The turkish people keep too much to themselves. The problem will dissolve over time, though. The kids learn German. They'll actually be at an advantage. They are like the kids of Spanish immigrants in the US: the United States' future is hispanic, so bilingual Spanish/English speakers have an advantage. Same goes for the turkish citizens in Germany.---

I can't fucking stand immigrants. For starters, they insist upon bringing their backwards ass stone aged religions over here, and treating my country as though it's the same fucking slum they crawled out of. Secondly, my stupid ass Canadian government gives these immigrants a tax free pass. I was fucking born here and I pay taxes, taxes which go towards paying these people to come here and setup businesses, live taxfree, and save up to ship 20 of their family members over to come and live tax-free while the native population fronts the bill. Immigration in Canada needs to be tightened the fuck up. cause this is what the german government is now trying to dissolve - quarters like "little istanbul" in berlin where almost only turks live within their own language and culture.

In all of my world travels, I have only seen one "multicultural" society that was truly successful.
Singapore.
Singapore is multicultural AND successful because:
1) It is effectively a corporate police state. You can get 30 lashes from a scourge just for spitting your chewing gum on the sidewalk. Al Sharpton-type instigators are sure as hell not tolerated.
2) Although their social policy doesn't allow freedom of speech, as that sort of thing doesn't work in a multicultural society, it is otherwise libertarian as fuck. There is no welfare, and taxes are low. There is no social safety net. The winners want to immigrate there to make it big, and not have the government take it all away. The losers stay the hell away, as they won't get their welfare check from the government if they don't pull their weight.Comment
