im working on a wordpress mobile gallery plugin, and curious what is the best sizes for mobile, thumb and full size.

Maybe this is of some help;

1. 320x396 754 786 37.41 %
2. 320x480 110 910 5.50 %
3. 240x320 87 135 4.32 %
4. 480x272 86 550 4.29 %
5. 320x240 68 285 3.38 %

These are the viewable screen sizes. Maybe, 6 months old (as to the %?) supposedly ...

300 x 300 sounds about right.

Looks like 240x240 fits majority of all phones
