hmmm, I have a nightmare. I love my iPhone, its on o2, I get 1000mins a month & unllimited free internet access for £70 plus a month....
Excell Communications ring me, offering, the Blackberry 9800 torch, with 1000mins a month, unlimited landline calls, text & free internet, also a business team to call with any problems rather than the usual customer service team. Its a business orange line for £50 a month.

Its a really nice phone & a great package, which I have taken up, with a cool down period of 14days, having to decide which one I prefer. They port my old number, so no messing about there & they pay for all cancellation charges at o2.

To put it plain & simple, I have no fees, I save £20 a month for unlimited landline calls extra & its a really nice phone with both touchscreen & keypad. Its the latest dogs bollocks phone, but I still think I prefer my iPhone 3gs

Please give me a little push in the direction you would go

Orange is crap. That phone is worse.

Switch to 02 SIMplicity. Rolling monthly contract. 1200 minutes = 35 quid. 300 minutes = 15 quid.

I bought the iphone4 contract free for 600 and use SIMplicity. Works very well.

I dont like the iPhone 4, the shape is boring. The new torch is a great phone as is the 3Gs. If I stick with iPhone, Ill stay with the 3Gs.

The concern is with the reception & whether blackberry do the similar apps... Only those with blackberry could give me the advice I need.

Just rang o2 to find out why I was paying so much & fund that my line is only £45 a month not £70, but Ive been charged for 0845 numbers. When I joined them 5 or 6 yrs back, they were included

So if I stay with the blackberry, Ill not save any money, it is down to the phone & apps... I suppose this is when you realise you're growing up & gadgets dont mean too much any more otherwise I would go for the blackberry with the slide. Both phones are nice but I really just want the one that works best

Ive checked my reception, both great in my area. Cost, about the same, looks, love them both...

Who has a Blackberry, whats the apps like. I dont want to start loading this up if I'm not keeping it

PS If you want to stick with your old 3gs, then you would still save a fortune switching to the SIMplicity tariff I posted about.

PPS This small telco that cold called you in the first place will want an 18 month or 24 month contract. I know you love your iPhone and the iPhone 5 will be out in June and the iPhone 6 a year later. So you will miss both those with this new contract. Something to consider.

The money wasnt the main thing, that was a bonus to begin with. Blackberry has meant to have a better emailing system that I have already found very efficient to use.

I like to read a review, but 2 reviews are not the same as a cpl of hundred GFYers giving their thoughts on blackberry if they have used them.

I've got the Sprint version and love it. I'd consider checking those out too if you have that option.

I am a self professed phone geek. I'm always trading up for new phones, 1-2 times per year.

The Samsung Galaxy is by far the best smartphone I've ever owned, and I've had a bunch of them. It puts a whipping on the new iPhone too. The Samsung has an improved version of the core in the iPhone, huge AMOLED screen and plenty of storage.

Why do I need a decent camera on a phone? Im a producer with canons & panasonics. Ram, I have a PC & a new Acer laptop with Ram, I need a phone to feel right, show me where I am with mapping when Im out & about plus the email....

I feel the screen is one of the other important factors! I like to see what Im doing. When Im shooting, I leave my phone a distance away from me on silent, but its good to see it when someones ringing without going over to it....

I have just looked online at the samsung, & must admit that it looks a little cheaper as there is no silver surround, slide or flashness to it. But the screen, the slimmer width, & the apps are important.

This blackberry is a little wide in the hand. When on the phone, it doesnt feel as comfortable as the iPhone & obviously the samsung looks similar size to the iPhone

if your not interested in switching to the iPhone 4, then I would go with the torch.

phone wise, the only thing you are going to miss is a few gamer apps and other bs toys. if your using it for business mostly, you can do almost the same thing anywhere.

not sure about your cellular service, but check to see if they have a grace period for the phone. the only way you will figure out if you like it or not is to actually play with it

Im pretty much there. I do like o2, they are telefonica which are a spanish company. I think roaming from Spain is cheaper than other companies, not positive on that but...

As said previously, I love the feel of the iPhone3 in my hand, it sits nice. After candyflip & a cpl of others have mentioned the Samsung, Im going to send this Blackberry back & try out the Samsung.

Its been a hard decision all day, especially as both phones are well worth it

but on a serious note, the iphone. . . pretty unbeatable as a phone to be honest

No bank details, they pay all cancellation payments, they ask for no details apart from confirming company name, phone number & home address. I have received all the documents stating the monthly payments, my number to port, the sales rep & a cheque£35 to bank to cover the first months deduction from the usual fee from the business connection. The company are really good. It just proves a few people can really fuck it up for some really good & serious companies. Brings a light to my world

I rang them today & spoke straight away to a customer service person rather than pissing around with usual orange dealership or customer service bullshit.

They are a very good company & I am considering the Samsung through them as said.. so monday, Ill return the Blackberry & check out the Samsung.

lol, Ill probably end up staying with o2 as I like the service I get from them & Ill end up sticking wth my iPhone after all this

Hi arsewithcalss... i havent got my hands on a Torch yet was thinking after the mistakes BB made with the Storms they would have put more effort in to this one... was it really that bad?

I think this will be my next handset http://www.htc.com/www/product/desirez/overview.html i love the keyboard and i would trust HTC to build a better handset than Samsung. Unlike the Desire HD the Z is still 3.7" so it wont be to big to carry around :-)

Im looking forward to it, thanks for your input into my decision over the blackberry. Lol, whats it feel like to have been a part of some ones choices in life

The blackberry isnt that bad, I like it. It looks great & interacts well. The email picks up straight away & works real sweet. I just dont like the feel of it in the palm of my hand & the map system is very poor. I like the iPhone google type map.. Its more intricate

Ok so not all bad but the feel of the phone is very important as we do so much more than just making a few calls on it. I used to use my maps on my old BB and was not impressed shame they havent looked at coming up with something better as the other guys have nailed it!

Best of luck with your choice will be good to know which one you go for after all the testing is out the way

Thanks CCMedia, Ill definatly post which one I go for. For me, im on the phone half the day, so I suppose it can be more important. For those that want something that looks good, I would have said the Blackberry is top of the list. It looks very good & the slide would look great in public. Saying that, I had the Nokia 8800 when it first come out in 04 or 05... That was swish I still have that handset now, & love holding it. The slide just slips out & feels great in the hands. They bought the gold one out... Oh why!

Anyway, heres to either the iPhone3 for shape & feel or the Samsung for everything
