I love my Android phone the HTC Evo 4G. I haven't deleted any of the thousands of text messages I sent and received since June 4th when I purchased it and I also have all my contact data, calendar and more on there. Space for data is not an issue for me yet, and I love the functionality of it including acting as a fairly high speed 3G data network to tether my laptop when I am on sets or away from home.Comment

I had some issues with the battery on my HTC Desire so i started making sure the Wifi was always off if i wasnt using it. Have you upgraded to the new Froyo 2.2 OS? as the new OS version had some tweeks that made my batter last a bit longer!
On my handsets its Menu/Settings/About Phone/system software information... select "Check Now" to see if you have the most recent updates.Comment

Hey mchacal, for me the whole thing about the BBs is the keyboard... as it was the first phone to allow emails to be written and read very qickly alot of people are hooked. I had a BB for a long time before my android HTC desire whihc is all touch screen and its not as easy to write long messages as it was on the BB so i use the HTC as more of a reader now than a writter.

If you go Android, go HTC. Their interface is the least obtrusive. Do not go with Motorola. When the software is updated they take the longest to update because their Moto Blur crap takes forever for them to recode. Samsung barely got their UI to even work with Android so if you go with them your phone will run a lot slower!
So stick with HTC and they also have the largest community by far for modding the phone. There are tons of root ROMS at xda developers (google it) for HTC phones (and other brands too).
I have owned a phone by all of the manufacturers mentioned above so I know first hand what the experience is like with all of them. I will never buy another phone not made by HTC!Comment

I have a blackberry, and I like it. One main reason is because I am used to it. Another reason why I like it is because a lot of my friends have BB's and BBM (Blackberry Messenger) is a great tool to talk with your friends, share files so on so forth. Much better then texting. A lot of people I know use Blackberrys just for this APP alone because all of there friends have it. You can do group chats, share images with multiple people. It has great functionality. Blackberry is meant more for the corporate world though. With Blackberry Enterprise server. Companies have much more control over what people can do on there company phones. Where you have no control on an iphone or google phone. You can actually do contact filtering through BES so you can control the browser on your users BB. The email, contacts and calendar are all done through a lot better sync process with BES then any other phone has.
As far as for someones personal phone. I think the iPhone & any Adnroid touch screen is much more advanced for media purposes for the regular user. The Apps are much better. The games are much better. So on so forth. In the same token there are still a lot of people out there, me being one of them who will never deal with a touch screen phone. My girl has an iphone and it is a complete headache for me to type a text msg on. With my blackberry i find the keyboard much more user friendly.
I also live in NY and Verizon is the best service here and we dont have an iPhone yet. At&t only has it right now and there service is terrible here.
This is just a few thing I have seen.
I think for a personal phone if you are ok with the touch screen. Seems like Androids are becoming the cream of the crop.Comment
