We've all heard the 'roll player' side to avery's defense so often its actually made people believe that it IS a roll..

what avery does has nothing to do with hockey. He has enough skill to play as a grinder and impact player on any team, that i give him credit for, but the wwe act he tries to bring in to the mix is absolutely embarrassing. The "agitator" roll exists, Matthew Barnaby, Darcy Tucker, and Claude Lemieux are good examples and arguably less skilled then Avery.

He does bring a lot of bullshit to a team, but I believe his value as a player is a bigger upside much like the hated Ron Artest in basketball.
