From the UK or from Spain to the USA it's 1 to 2 days. So it should be the same from the UK and Europe.

Did you give them your IBAN number and did they quote it? If they used SWIFT rather than IBAN that can affect things in Europe.

Normally it takes 2 days, but some banks keep the money "in transit" for interest reasons, so it can take up to 10 days if both banks do this.

EUR takes a day, USD generally takes 3 days

thx for the replies yep they've got iban and swift numbers.
Suppose I'll have to chase, my bank assures me they have no record of it even pending.
Will chase from the UK end.

If you went inside U.K. geographically, you could get paid from U.K. faster.

Sometimes it can take a couple of days, if not 3-4 days. I once found that the sender bank couldn't find my bank, so they sent to an intermediary bank, which is why it then ended up at 3-4 days, vs the 1-2 it would normally take.
Anyway, make sure they use IBAN if you're inside the EU - it's much cheaper than swift.

as far as I know a wire (no matter where it comes from and goes to) cannot take longer then THREE business days, so 5 business days = something's fishy
