No sure how being a film producer makes him have a pretty sick head, regardless of the subject matter of Ninety.

He's the producer....he didn't write it or come up with the idea for the film.

Most films are made by production companies. The executives "green light" a project, they then assign a producer to the film. The producer's job is to bring it all together. The producer hires the director, the screen-writers, and all of the other technical crafts-persons who work on the film.

The producer is responsible for overseeing every mechanical detail of the film: sets, costumes, locations. The producer sets up the budget, meets the payroll, and in short, does everything necessary for the director to walk on stage and say "Action."

Looking at the few details that are available about Ninety, it actually looks like Mallick has a pretty good business sense on this one. The director of the film is Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV and Repo! The Genetic Opera.

Not sure how Mallick got involved with Ninety, but considering his director's previous efforts, this looks like a good project to have his hands in, as it will most likely be successful.

And on another note, just because someone writes a grisly horror film (or enjoys watching them) why does that make them a sick creepy head?

Edit: There's enough reasons to hate on Mallick already, and horror films have a bad enough rep as it is. Let's not trash horror in another effort to hate on Mallick.

DLB is a damn good director and this movie sounds like a lot of fun, especially amidst all the remakes and PG13 teeny bopper horror...
