It's not so much the ground up shit that goes into it, that's all edible, who cares? The issue I have is all the bleaching, dying, and artificial flavoring that takes place afterwards in order for them to give it that "natural" chicken look and taste.
I don't eat a lot of processed meats as is, but I'm going to try to make a conscious effort to stay away from foods that are too overly processed in the future.Comment

you're right - the processing afterwards is the main risk - the adding of all things that don't belong in food. i can only suggest to read the smallprint on the packaging before you buy something - or only use fresh ingredients. but thats not very convenient and unfortunately i am also too lazy for that

Make them yourself!
1 packet of extra lean chicken mince
Seasonings of your choice (pepper, garlic, etc.)
Blend these together in a bowl and make into a paste like above. (but not processed)
Add on beaten egg and mix this in by hand (messy? yes!)
Flour a side of your kitchen (clean of course)
Roll the meat out into a dough about 2cm thick.
Cut out nugget shapes
dip in a another prepared beaten egg
Add to bread crumbs
And fry
fucking tasty
