Not flawed. I wanted to see specifically how many here are using that particular type of phone, plus I want to know how popular all other Android phones are collectively.

What he was trying to say is that there IS NO GOOGLE PHONE. So yes, your poll has a flaw.

Android is an OS that has been developed in part by Google (a company the purchased actually) and a consortium of carriers, phone manufactures, etc.

Sorry. Them's the facts. Which is evidenced by the fact that not a single person choose the option Google Phone. Because it DOESN'T EXIST. :winkwink:

rowan 10-03-2010 05:49 PM

Isn't the "Google Phone" the Nexus?

Jakez 10-03-2010 05:53 PM

Wow I'm surprised at the results, I thought the iphone would have the most.

Cell phones are used for MUCH more than just talking nowadays.. in fact talking is one of the least things I use it for :1orglaugh

Exactly same problem, after update it is slow. I was thinking to change it, but after trying models that should compare with it (same or similar price range), it is simply not worth, and I hate having what all other people have (android).

lazzar 10-05-2010 07:34 AM

HTC Desire (Android)

Got Porn? 10-05-2010 07:34 AM

Blackberry, I plan on getting an Android when my contract expires.

The Dawg 10-05-2010 07:51 AM

Still rocking my Nokia E71. I am tempted to get an Android phone, but too cheap to pull the trigger. :upsidedow

Well there you go, shows how much I know about phones or I suppose I would have caught it. I took the poll options from another site that was running the same poll, I had no idea what "android" was even, much less a google phone. :D

I just assumed it (google phone) was in there for the reason I stated in my other post.

I don't see it as a validation-killing flaw though, the results of the poll are still useful. Obviously everyone simply ignored the google option which is just fine.

It was originally a local poll on a local radio station's website, btw. The most popular phone people own here is either the Blackberry or the iPhone, so I wondered how the results of GFY users would differ (if at all). I seem to have my answer.

ContentPimp 10-05-2010 11:11 AM

Not a validation killing flaw, but a flaw nonetheless...which was all the guy was pointing out :winkwink:

The way he stated it was vague. Your explanation was much clearer. I actually learned something from it in fact.

There are quite a few informative posts in this thread in fact. I have much to consider here.

Maybe you are in right. I gave 600 euros for something that is working slow, so maybe I have problem admitting my mistake (even worse, I was researching more then a month what should be best buy).

Pretty_Lara 10-05-2010 01:00 PM

If anyone else has something further to add on smart phones or which on is the best, feel free.

quiet 10-07-2010 11:27 AM

hey CD, if you are on facebook, consider adding me: dgrigat at[[[[[[[ gmail }}}}}. com

CCMediaNetwork 10-07-2010 12:01 PM

We have to all thank Apple for changing the market by offering a smartphone that was aimed at a customers needs and not limiting its functions to only further the strength of the mobile operators. Which in turn was the final nail in the mobile operator walled gardens (On Deck) cofin. But when Android showed us how much more a smartphone could do it only makes me feel Apple crushed one walled garden only to go on and build their own!

I am using the HTC Desire with Froyo 2.2 and am very happy with it, it has 5 home screens which are 100% customizable with applications and widgets. So i have been able to make my phone even more personal to me than ever before. New Desire HD and Desire Z coming soon.

Blackberry lovers check out the new "Torch" the storms were such a bad attempt at touch screen as it was based on the push plate idea but the torch is the first to combine the keyboard and the large touch screen.

sales pitch lol ;-) and with my android i can stream flash direct to my handset so live cams are now the best i have ever seen even better than our iPhone live cam solution!

GetInSpace 10-07-2010 01:46 PM

Have Had Iphones< Android, and Blackberry and must say that the best one for my business is The Blackberry Bold. I will be upgrading to the Torch soon which is a touch screen with slide out keyboard. Best for email and text. (In my opinion)

I think I do have a fb page somewhere but I've not done a thing with it. I'll have to log in there one of these days and see what's what.

CDSmith 10-08-2010 08:16 AM

Looks like the iPhone is pulling ahead now.

Shedevils 10-08-2010 11:09 AM

IPhone 4. There is nothing even close.

SiMpLe 10-08-2010 12:07 PM

HTC EVO - Android

CCMediaNetwork 10-08-2010 01:06 PM

I am not an iphone hater thats for sure as right now there are more iPhones in customers hands. A good stat is that in the 1st qtr this year more Android handsets were shipped to the US than Apples iPhone.

We have to remember that the iPhone4 was yet to hit the shelves so with that in mind customers would have held off buying 3GS etc untill the new arrival. iPhone is aimed at a single market and i feel its the top end where as Android have a full range of devices for all budgets which will inevitably mean Android will take a large chunk of the Smartphone market.

The Smartphone war is still in full flow... exciting times ahead ;-)
