How to get people to pay to YOU to advertise on your site????

I realize this can be a very intermediate question, but I was trying to go "Ad-free" on my site & rely on member conversion & well, I'm not big enough yet to have any kind of conversion to have the luxury of an "Ad-Free" website

I realize you can become an affiliate and send traffic to someone elses site & hopefully earn a comission off of that. But how do you get people to pay YOU an upfront fee (monthly, one time etc) in order for you to advertise their product/website on yours with an ad/banner? What do you tell them to entice them into doing business with you? How do you even approach them in order to try & pitch them? What companies are even approachable like this? I guess condom companies come to mind? But do they pay for advertising like that? Who do you have to talk to in which department to hopefully get someone interested in paying you to market on your website? (I assume its the "Marketing Department" but there is more finesse to it that just calling up a company and asking for their marketing department and slamming a deal over the phone) Any help & advice would be greatful. I've been a member here and many other adult webmaster forums for a long time & have come a long way over the last couple of years while learning A LOT and have put everything I have into building my site and brand (www.PunkRockPrincess.com) with time, money & effort and I refuse to let it die and not be successful. Because I still believe in it. And I believe in it 100% even though I've fallen short lately & have let life get to me enough to the point of slacking. I'm looking for REAL, honest help & advice here. I know there's still good people out there on the internet that do care about the success of others. |

Too wide though eh? By how much should I reduce it? I've only been a real webmaster doing HTML for about a year. So I'm still a little "Green" if you will. |

Is this a joke? you need traffic before you can sell adspace. 1,000 uniques a month is nothing. May as well be 0 in teh eyes of anyone buying ad space.

90% of all sites that want a prepay generally are double priced. Unless people allow cheap 3 day tests, I run for the hills. Since tube sites came out, you can't break even at best.

you need to remember that most surfers will look for 1 second before they deside to stay or leave. if they in that 1 second do not know what the site is, chances are they will go. Do not expect people to go on and spend time looking around. Most will not till you 'grab' them.

I've tried and still continue to market on social media, Myspace, Twitter, Xpeeps, Some Facebook, but generally the "Good" facebook advertising costs money. Mind you I'm incorporating the "Social Network" aspect into my website... |

You can approach people on your own within your target audience and offer them a free trial to get them in, but with only 1K uniques a month you won't be able to find people willing to pay more than a couple dollars. It's a good domain but you need to build the traffic first.

Do some research on building traffic for a new site. There are more tutorials and articles out there than you could read in one lifetime. |

You can try to sell a banner spot on your site for a flat rate, after showing them statistics of your traffic. You can also try to sign up with pay per impression or pay per click networks, such as http://www.avnads.com. Good luck.

If I was you, forget money from advertising at the moment. Make it for the long haul. Build up links & get real traffic flowing into your site. |

		 You're kidding, right?

4-5 users per day = ~1200-1500 per month. With an high click through on your ad, say 5%, you will deliver 1500 x 0.05 = 75 uniques per month = ~2 per day NO ONE will buy ads with those numbers. Because the downside of not getting that many clicks, or you not getting the full 1500 visitors is much more probable than the possible upside in you getting more traffic for that month. The only ads you could show are the ones which pay per click, and then ask youself, would you consider it worth it, having a banner there for 1 or 2 cent per click, making about a $1 per month with your current numbers? Better to spend your time developing the site, put up supporting blogs, spread some links, let Google work it's magic and so on and so forth. But don't think for a second that you're going to sell pre sold ads with those numbers.

Loads slow here too in Philly on comcast, but even with small traffic you can sell ads, but you might be better off with affiliates sales to a niche site that works with your traffic, since you wont get much for ad space with not much traffic make a few bux a week, but you might get a few sales a week to some punk rock GF site at 35pps.
