I also just called the bank after hearing everyone elses responses. I drilled the woman with all sorts of questions. Basically I got a lot of the same from her but she did say when I threatened with a lawyer "oh, no no there will be no need for that" we are just working on how we can verify card holders and issue back their money or make their money accessible.

She did say there will be a statement posted on their site she was not sure when. They have been in meetings today. And we all should know something by Sept. 30th - I did not hear anything as far as Oct. 30th.

It would make sense that the bank is trying to keep epass holders as customers. Hopefully what they are saying will happen.

Finally a thread with info. Good work!

Yeah I've rung 3 times and spoken to 3 different people and this is basically it. 30th September at the latest check their website for an announcement.

Oh and they said your money is safe! But then I asked about withdrawing the money she just said the same thing about checking the website!

There are inconsistencies as to the month, September or October.
Whether there was an error in the date either posted or given, that I do not know. I would look toward a date published by the Bank.

This is a traded public stock bank, albeit small and on a Caribbean island. Banks do not allow their employees to make statements of this nature, especially concerning the status of any customer (i.e., ePassporte,) without prior management approval and in some cases, with the consent of their legal department.

This trading chart appeared and the disappeared in the past few weeks SKNB:EK and there was a highly suspicious spike in activity in August ...

By no means is any of the above a guarantee — we don't know the real cause behind this and why this happened. This is a calculated risk. If the real date of resolution or some real progress is shortly forthcoming (September 30th) fine. If we are being played again — as the bank is taking responsibility for the funds there may be some real legal recourse that would be effective.

Finally some hopeful news though..

Why would you wait a few days? If you have money stuck in epass you should be calling right now.

nolongerexists 09-24-2010 08:35 AM

I would be worried about Wallet funds now. LOL

SKNANB is committed to adhering to Visa's stringent program requirements and maintaining the integrity of the global payment network. On instruction of SKNANB, on September 23rd, 2010, ePassporte's network access for cards issued by SKNANB was disabled. As a result, SKNANB prepaid cardholders will not be able to view their card balances through the ePassporte.com website.

SKNANB is actively working to restore, as soon as possible, SKNANB prepaid cardholders' ability to obtain information regarding their Visa card balances and to access Visa card funds. SKNANB prepaid cardholders can expect further communication from SKNANB on or before September 30th 2010.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your SKNANB prepaid card, please contact SKNANB at [email protected]. In addition, a dedicated telephone line will be established shortly.

SKNANB thanks you for your continued patience.

Gotta give it to the bank for creating a dedicated email and phone line. I have no money lost in this but truly hope everyone gets every dime back.

This is the most positive news that has been released in the last three weeks, I hope that the bank stands by their word. They did post an announcement rather quickly and held to that promise.

I'm wondering if the negotiations failed or if ePass was given X days to come up with all the documentats so they were VISA compliant and just couldn't do it thus forcing the accounts over to the bank.

Keep the updates coming from the bank, it's great news to head into the weekend with.

I tend to listen before I act. If the bank has the $$, that is a good thing. They adhere to some sort of banking laws. So when the rush on the bank settles down I will call them and they will tell me yes or no as to getting my $$.

Hearing that epass no longer has the $$ was welcome news..

An official statement from SKNAB is a glimmer of hope for me!

A reasonable resolution to this problem. Not further time buying "motion".

webboy21 09-24-2010 09:18 AM

I agree with others here....this gives me some hope of getting my money...let's hope it will be easy enough (not having to jump through hoops). Luckily my card is in my real name so I am hoping a copy of my passporte (without the e!) or something will be enough to get my card turned back on
