Anyone bought a MacBook online ?

I was checking out macmall.com however the reviews of that site are terrible.
Getting free shipping & paying no sales tax is huge on a $2k purchase however I cannot seem to find a "authorized" online retailer with good reviews.

May end up just going into my local Apple Store and paying the $200 in sales tax

MacMall has been around for years. I have ordered and would order again from them with absolutely no concerns.

I bought my iMac27" directly from Apple.com and paid extra for fast shipping. I received it in less than a week and they provided ship tracking online. Great service, cheap too.

If you can find a student ID somewhere you can often get deals direct from Apple that match MacMall.

I have always bought from apple's site online or at their stores in the past and been happy. Just trying to save $200 in taxes.....

My thing is if it goes wrong, which I have never had happen yet with one of their products I can just take it into their store to have fixed if I buy direct from them. With MacMall you have to deal with the whole returns practice of sending it back to them....

I guess it comes down to what's my time worth....

I bought my iMac from them and it was shipped the same day and was exactly as ordered.

I bought two macbooks from Amazon.com, paid no sales tax.

I have the Prime membership so I get 2nd day Fedex free.

If it is under warranty, original period or thru apple care, you can take it to an apple store to have it fixed. If it is not under warranty I can't see apple not taking your money to fix it. You would only have to deal with MacMall if it arrived not working and that would be to return it. Buying thru MacMall does not void an apple warranty. MacMall is an authorized apple reseller.

I've used MacMall for ages. They are a great place to get Apple products because they throw in all these freebies like printers and ram. If you don't want to order from them just buy it through Apple directly online. Have done this in the past too and never had a problem

Bought a macbook straight from apple.com. Had to wait a week since it was custom configured and there was sales tax charged. Besides that no complaints.

Spend a few of the dollars you're saving on Apple Care. I've always done that and just taken them into the Apple Store for repair. Infact, I'm pretty sure if the unit is under warranty you can take it to the Apple Store regardless of where you purchased it.

I ordered from macmall.com in the end. No sales taxes or shipping costs. Saved me around $250 over Apple online or in store. Will see how it works out.
I did have to phone my CC company for them to approve the charge. For some reason they would not authorize it initially.

Got mine from Amazon also, no complaints. A friend got one much cheaper through Ebay. Both purchases worked out great.
