Girl Scouts fear arrest for peddling

This just amazes me that the cops have nothing better to do than to fuck with the girl scouts. And some of the excuse's they gave in the video regarding the reasons they require permits is just plain bullshit. Whats next, raiding the lemon aid stands in the neighborhoods?

On another note, we just got our mint cookies and look forward to them each year

eh, i hate the fucks that come to my door and try and sell magazine subscriptions. You need to apply for a permit in my town as well and it has to go in front of city council before its granted. I usually just wave through my window at them and smile but never actually open or answer the door. this confuses them.

The officer could have looked the other way and let them sell the damn cookies. On the other hand I can understand why the permit requirements are there. must have been a slow news day

***edit**** i got my 10 boxes of thin mints the other day and they are now sitting in my freezer

I don't like soliciting either. Our sign by the front door reads No Soliciting Except Girl Scouts of America, so that usually keeps the door bell ringers away. If someone other than a girl scouts rings? that bell selling shit, I ask them if they can fucking read....usually gets their attention: 2 cents:

Very often in situations like this, it is Not the cops idea to go out and do this. Remember that a lot of them have kids.

usually it is some bitter old pain in the ass that has a relative they can pressure some how in the local city gubment and then it happes.

if your area requires you to have a permit to sell goods even if its on private property with the owners permission - then you should get a permit like every other vendor has to.
The cop could of been nicer about it - and let them know they do need a permit and if they wish to sell here again they would need to get it and let them finish out their day...

well looking at the prices for the cookies they can afford to pay for a permit. And when joe blow throws up a stand he can say why do I have to pay for a permit when they didn't

And how else do you think cities, states, and counties make their money when the politicians cut taxes? they raise your fees and add new fees.

Reading the article, there is nothing that makes me think the cop did anything wrong. The scout leader tossed in that "the younger members thought they would be taken to jail" for sympathy. Nothing more.
