    ePassporte Wire: We are unable to send wires

    got e-mail from epassporte:

    We are unable to send wires due to Intermediary Bank Issues (Standard Chartered Bank has chosen not to process wires from ePassporte).

    wtf??

    anyone else ?

                  I believe I've heard Standard Chartered Bank won't accept wires from epass up here a few times before. Look it up. Some banks won't work with epass, period. You didn't know that? It started happening after the gaming law came into force back in 2007 or was it 2008

                          Actually, I have previously had trouble sending IN to epassporte when my bank uses Standard Chartered as Intermediary. They declined the payment and the money was returned and my bank re-routed through Bank of America without issue. Happened twice at least to me before I specifically told them don't send via Standard Chartered.

                          This is probably more to do with how stupid Standard Chartered are than any further decline in epassporte situation HOWEVER if they are just saying they cannot send rather than apologising for a delay and re-routing, well that may be more serious.

                              You are correct, but you would think EPASSPORTE would know this and not try to route outgoing wires through them?

                                  I had this happen once too, they said raiffeisen chose not to accept wires from them.

                                                      I"m beginning to think Epass isnt intentionally screwing us... I'm thinking they got pinched doing something bad, and a Certain none to friendly to foreign banking government is putting the squeeze on them..

                                                      Shame on them for not telling us...now that the cats out of the bag, I dont know why they dont... I guess whatever nono they did is pretty embarrassing?

                                                                                                                  It means they are sending the wire and you should receive it in your bank within 5 business days. There should not have any issue with Intermediary bank if you already received wires from Epass in the past.
