Arguements to lower your rep

Ok, so all the assholes that say it's Bushs fault, argue with this and take it out on my rep points

The day the democrats took over was NOT January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to those propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS! (BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac????

OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???

OBAMA and the Democratic Congress

So when some one tries to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving.

Set the record straight on Bush! Place responsibility where it belongs.

There is not much to debate with you. Your reply will be something about Barry being evil. I agree with a lot of your ideas and thoughts, but you should probably take a step back and catch some fresh air. You're going to have a heart attack. Will Barry's health care save you?

I'm tired of debating politics. No amount of debating is ever going to change anyone's opinion. People get upset about religion and politics. Regardless of how much I like to remind people that there is no God and Republicans are mentally deficient I have yet to change anyone's opinion on the subjects.

I don't care about healthcare personally, even if I didn't have healthcare, because I'm a vet I can get healthcare for free
My heart is strong and my mind is free, I don't like either parties, but I hate the present one the most

But remember, Barry is going to make the schools better by keeping kids in the classrooms longer, what a fucking idiot

the more we get republicans and democrats fucking up our country, the more people are going to need religion

People are concerned about right wing nut jobs getting into power right now, if the liberals didn't fuck up everything so bad, the right wingnuts wouldn't be getting into power, more moderate politicians would be running

I think this is a fair point. I know guys that have been injured in service and can't get shit for help. The offerings just aren't enough. Perhaps we can save money by not giving "free" health care to veterans that haven't been injured in service and funnel that additional money to those that have so they can get proper help?

If we're talking about cutting wastes and entitlements, let's talk about cutting wastes and entitlements.

I was in during the first IRAN war, in harms way, in front of the fleet. I was there so YOU could be safe. I was ordered there by Carter and sent home by Reagan. VA hospitals are there for people that served their country, Free healthcare is for those that can't afford it, I don't see where they are the same and I haven't used it since I got out of the military in 28 years.
I raised my daughter as a single parent, she has been under my healthcare service her whole life till she got in the Navy. Now she's getting out and going to medical school getting healthcare from her college and thru the VA if needed.

All you are doing here is showing that as a government healthcare, the VA is an important endeavor, but it has so many problems, they made a movie about it, called Article 99, watch it sometime and ask yourself if you really want the government to run healthcare

I raised my daughter as a single parent, she has been under my healthcare service her whole life till she got in the Navy. Now she's getting out and going to medical school getting healthcare from her college and thru the VA if needed.

All you are doing here is showing that as a government healthcare, the VA is an important endeavor, but it has so many problems, they made a movie about it, called Article 99, watch it sometime and ask yourself if you really want the government to run healthcare
we have never been at war with Iran, there was the hostage crisis but no war. The reason that happened was the cia installed the shah of iran. Also how old are you? I figured you were in your 40's like me. You get free government healthcare and it sounds like it has serviced you well. I thanked you for your service.

As I would never qualify for military service (there are many who can't) I am not completely familiar with how the VA operates. How long do you have to serve and what position in the military must you maintain in order to keep access to the VA? Does a four-year desk jockey get lifetime access to the VA? Sure, that person has served their country... so does my cousin that's a teacher in inner-city Chicago as part of a special program to help children of less than fortunate families, tough neighborhood. Maybe there should be an TA.

I turn 50 next month, I know exactly why I was there, I had a clearance a lot higher than the average military person. The VA is just there if I need it, the only thing I have ever taken advantage of since I got out was a VA loan.

Honorable discharge I believe and certain income levels or abilities to pay for it.

What BullShit? I was in during the cold war, you would have shit you pants knowing some of the things I did.
I worked in the elevator industry in the 80's in high rises in LA, it was a good gig, sorry you got laid off, but as a whole, the country was a lot better off financially after Reagan got some things done

Everytime you screw with Taxes and adding new entitlements, you screw with the economy, no one that has money to invest wants to take a chance in a enviroment when they don't know whats going to happen next. Anyone that owned a house knew it wasn't going to last, I knew it, I still own my home. Because I didn't borrow against it, Obama borrowed against the economy thinking it would just fix itself, that didn't happen, now we're fucked and changes have to be made to get people with money to want to invest in expanding business in the US.
the logic of a man that thinks that having kids in school longer will help the school system is not whats going to work for our economy

But vend the rich have got richer and companies have 2 trillion dollars in cash reserves. The economy is fine for them. They were shipping off jobs all during W and during bush wages were flat. If it wasn't for easy credit and the housing bubble, this would of been felt alot sooner. The house bubble happened because of no regulation, when the right got rid of glass speigal.

The right voted down this week, funding for 911 responders and to tax companies shipping jobs offshore and tax breaks for companies that keep jobs here. Yep they are great for the middle class. lol

Everything was peaking/crashing, starting to tumble before they took over. Housing peaked in 06, then started its massive decline. 'Job loss' during all of that decade was crazy, it was double the 90's and going back up before they took over - Job creation did not keep up with job loss. We hit a record on the Dow Oct 2007 then the drop hit but, today's Dow is roughly equal to 1998's Dow, which was mighty strong. GDP is higher today as well - it's only dip is in 2009, slightly, the only time for about the last 15 years.

Something to note: Reagan bailed out Chrystler for $4 billion, Illions Bank for $9.5 Billlion and the Savings & Loans crap cost $293 billion. Bush, 'signed'... $1.3 trillion total in bailouts.

Democraps are shit too, they could have said no, piss off and forced most of this away - but they didn't. Either way, it all comes down to this... What happened and what we're left with, is NOT Obama's fault.

Middle class relies on the rich to spend money to make money, if they save it without spending it, middle class dies.
I'm sure if you read those bills, they were put down for reasons other than the title

It's about not calling it Bushs fault, it was only partly his fault, I blame the Democrats for not fixing, instead they're making it worse
