Maybe they could just start leaving the money on the dresser?

Just sayin'.

go with a bank you can deposit by taking a picture on your phone, or use an online bank like emigrantdirect.com, then transfer $ to which ever account you want.

We live in a small town and have already had at least one dude show up on our doorstep because he knows about our sites. Really not interested in people at the bank reading our blogs, seeing us naked, telling more folks in our small town to check out our sites, etc. Realistically I know this might happen, but we should be able to trust folks IN OUR INDUSTRY to have a clue about protecting some of this information.

Granted they chould be helping you keep your privacy if that is what you want, but shouldn't you have thought all this out before going the route you have chosen?

Dude, the questions is not if my bank has got one branch or not. The question is WTF porn stuff doing on the actual check? You want to show me all the details? Print them on a fucking piece of paper that I can tear off and keep/throw away or if it's too difficult print in on a sheet of A4 paper and send along with the check.

Contacted them, no replies so far, one said that they can't do anything and will continue to print names in the future and the only option is to change my username (good bye sales).
Nice!

I really don't give a fuck about what a bank employee thinks

Actually I was thinking other people in this industry might be able to do SOME OF THAT THINKING for themselves. Just a little bit. Obviously that's expecting too much.

I'm not the one who started the thread, I've been in this biz since 2000, and I've gotten used to things like this happening/have come to expect it. Still, I think it's worth mentioning/backing someone else up and pointing out how fucking clueless and or inconsiderate people in this business can be.

Everyone should be aware by now that there are repercussions to being outed as a porn peddler, porn performer, porn producer, etc. that go beyond worrying about whether or not someone has a bad opinion of you and go into zoning laws, not being able to find a home to rent, obscenity charges, stalking, etc.

SHOULD BE aware. Obviously aren't, and/or don't care.

I don't know why, maybe because the bank is the gatekeeper to my cash, but I used to really care what people thought of me at the bank. I would even go as far as throwing on a sweater or a jacket before going in there to cover my tattoos, etc. It took me a bit to get it, probably the 3rd or 4th time one of the account managers asked me what the hell it was I did for a living that it sunk in. They don't see me, they only see the dollar amount of my bank accounts and they treat me accordingly. I don't give a damn what the people at the bank think of me and it hasn't changed my banking relationships what so ever.

No one should force you to be made uncomfortable by what they have printed on a check, but if it helps you to look at it this way the people inside the bank are really just service industry when you boil it down. They shouldn't judge you, and if you feel that they are you can always remind yourself that you make more $$ than them anyway. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be thought of as a dirty pornographer than a bank teller anyday.

I honestly don't give a fuck if they know that I make porn or get my money from porn. In fact, I told one of the tellers before because she was curious about my mysterious money and said she wanted to do whatever it is that I do.

The point is, though, it should be up to ME to decide that, not ignorance and/or carelessness on the part of sponsors, etc. On top of that, there are other consequences to being outed besides someone thinking "oh gosh, there's a dirty pornographer". Legal consequences, financial consequences, discrimination that has real impacts beyond the emotional for self and family, etc.

My point is that these consequences are even more weighty for those of us who actually appear naked on our sites. We have already had a local guy show up on our doorstep. This kind of mistake on the part of sponsors only increases the chances of things like that happening.
