Actually I have machines that have over a months uptime and secure.

Just need to know how to administer win2k or NT

right on JFPdude

I'm sure you're right about that but seems as if historically nt has been an easier target to exploit...but again like you mentioned it all boils down to the admin and how ontop of it they wanna stay.

hahha, over a months uptime? Whoa. LOL

[root@backup1 /root]# uptime
12:30am up 414 days, 8:58

Move to Linux. :-) Redhat 8.0 rocks. Apache 2.0 is much better.
New security patches to kernel are dope!

If you need help securing your boxes, whether windows or linux or solaris or freebsd or whatever, give us a ring.

EggDrop bots:

EnergyMech 1 year 43 days 14 hours
Marsha|| 1 year 8 days 14 hours
botje 352 days 17 hours
Perl-CGI 350 days 5 hours

The list doesn't give OS's, but I'm guessing not NT.

heh, look at the version number of windows 2000. 3 years now. bill's had time. nt is even older. ;)

splitinfinity is right tho - move to linux. or freebsd (i'm a bsd bigot). you can still get owned, but it's easier to know you have been, and it's easier to recover from it because backups and restores are totally easy. and you don't have to buy crappy software to do it either.
