Time to speak up on dot-xxx to ICANN

Well, another year, another dot-xxx flair-up. But this one is the one to watch.
ICANN will meet in Cartagena, Columbia later this year (December 5-10) to meet and possibly pass dot-xxx in a way that will make it a reality, in a way that will cost all of us a lot of money to make go away from that point on.

The last line of defense by the grass roots industry is to write a letter to ICANN.
It can be short and look like an ee cummings poem if you like.
But, it needs to be written and sent.
Our industry is notorious for sitting on our heels and not cooperating, even in the face of certain death. Please prove this wrong and take 5 minutes right now to do this.

You have until September 23 to add your comment to ICANN of why you do not want this (or, why you do, for that matter).

This information is posted for a thirty day public comment period commencing at 12:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time (19:00 UTC) on 24 August 2010 through 11:59 a.m. Pacific Daylight time (18:59 UTC) on 23 September 2010.

30 day public comment period is open and it's REAL important that as many people as possible comment. Negative public comment is pretty much the only tool left available to ICANN, so we need to hit it hard right now to give them the reason to kill the dot-xxx domain.

So, please post something and recruit everyone you know to do the same....

I urge ICANN and other interested parties to view a short film that was created by leaders in the adult entertainment industry in August which shows, through satire, the many disastrous issues that .XXX creates. If Dot-XXX goes through on this next round, it will cost you a LOT of money for little or no profit ($60 per domain you register), and a belly full of misery in dealing with trademark violations. There are a lot of other reasons to speak up against it, but that one is obvious, calling out for your voice to ICANN.

It's not your "last chance", but it is your last chance that won't cost you legal fees and a big fat headache to deal with. This one is your last free ride. The next ones will cost all of us dearly.

This is a matter of great importance to the adult industry...it effects all of us. I Hope everyone finds a few minutes to write something, just so they know exactly how opposed the industry as a whole is.
