So what will epass do to restore their customers' confidence if they ever get back to full operation?
Just a message stating "We're sorry, guys. We never told you what was going on, but now everything is fixed"?

As such, Visa does not have access to or jurisdiction over, cardholder accounts. Account information is confidential and is proprietary between the issuing financial institution and the cardholder.
On September 2, 2010, Visa blocked network access on prepaid cards issued by St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank (SKNA) in an attempt to address certain program deficiencies. In this instance, the lack of adherence to the necessary controls required prompted Visa's action to limit the use of prepaid cards in accordance with the bank's request. ePassporte is a third party agent that works with SKNA.
It is important to note that impacted SKNA prepaid cardholders should still be able to access their funds through SKNA or SKNA's agent, ePassporte.com.

So, it's basically the same answer others got. But that means that the funds should really be safe in the bank, and that once the problem is resolved we should get our hands on them.

yes, that could be possible, although i doubt it. I doubt it because when I last time checked my balance on VISA card (sometime in the end of July), it showed exactly the same amount that showed it on my epass. That means the money is really there (because when you query balance, you get direct connection with the bank and your prepaid account).
So, I really believe the money is not gone, rather it's just frozen due to some requirements not met by epass...

Stop trolling, there are confirmations on many boards from many well-known people that ACH, wires and transfers to personal CCs are working. Not that ** Countries are eligible but, overall epass is alive.
Actual news from epass wouldn't hurt though, any news is better than no news at all.Comment

I got my wire this morning. Apart from the bank wire cost from E-Pass, my bank charged me a fee, but the cost is pretty much what the ATM charges for withdrawing that money would have been, so it's not that bad. two things:
1. Visa said " limit the use of prepaid cards in accordance with the bank's request. ". That is the mildest way I heard abut the suspension of cards, which still gives us a hope that cards will work again.
2.I also doubt the money was used by mallick or someone else.I mean the wallet money was never in question and we all had ALL VISA funds available jsut day before this happened.I hardly believe that he took the money out the day before visa shut down cards. Visa had to read and show us balance on our cards when we were taking cash out and I dont recall anyone seeing his cash is missing..Last edited by adult-help; 09-14-2010, 07:13 AM.Comment

I requested the money the same day this whole crisis began, it was a Friday, so I wouldn't count that day, so let's say it took 6-7 business days for the funds to appear on my bank.
This is the first time I do wires with e-pass, actually went smoother than I would have imagined.

It all boils down to what those control measures are that VISA talked about and what Epassporte is doing wrong in SKNA's view.
Maybe the bank does not work with epassporte anymore. Maybe they want to distance themselves from risky clients that deal in porn and other (maybe) shady stuff.
They obviously wanted to put some pressure on Epassporte.---

You would have to transfer to my wallet first , then wait till it hits my US account by ACH.
Once in the bank, wire could be done from US bank or Canadian bank..

This is good news actually. It indicates that as many of us suspected the problem was that VISA tightened control over the card issuers, but not that epassporte have lost all our money in some way. That gives a hope that we eventually will get our money. If Epass does not die before, indeed. They are running without essential income and new money injections now. God knows how long they will hold this way.Comment

That's not so much of a problem. Their biggest problem will be the huge drop in funds once they release the money again. You don't make much money from low-priced transactions or from bank interest alone. I would believe they have a good chunk of their money invested.
If they get it sorted out and get the VISA card working again, I will continue to use them. There is not much of an alternative for non-US webmasters. And there was no competition for epassporte, either.---
