VISA suspended access to its network, but how / why would VISA would freeze the money?
Either the money isn't really frozen -or-, as some knowledgeable financial folks have posted in some forums, ePassporte did something very, very bad - if so, the money is likely good as gone.
While most questions have been answered by Michael O., a big one not answered (unless I missed it) is WHY did VISA act when and how it did? VISA usually doesn't act that quick and aggressively unless something is very rotten.

I think your suspicions have merit...as it is my understanding that the bank in question has not lost its authority to issue Visa Cards...only the Epassporte account is affected.
but so you go to the atm, go to the "check balance" option? and it shows up fine, right?
or is there no "check balance" option?
I honestly haven't checked that... but I suspect that would work too. Because when you query the balance you contact VISA, and once you initiate transaction it automatically gets denied since the card is blocked. This is my assumption... I haven't tried it.

I got the form to be completed in my account and ePass replied to me very fast, under 24 hours.
Tomorrow I will upload the form and the ID for an wire transfer and I will tell you if all goes well. I do not take all my money cause I thing all will be fine in the end ....
I have called them also and they answered to my phone call very fast aslo, so I think they are working on the problem.
I am using ePassporte since 2003 and never had a problem with them, all was very fast and profesionally done.
So, just stay and wait, for those who do not have money in their walett, don't panic and don't send a lot of emails to them cause they try to resolve the problem.
I'm 2 weeks without the internet connection and wow... I've only managed to read a few crucial pages. I wonder if Visa is not acting illegally here. Can they do something like that... without any warning? Isn't Visa doing something that they shouldn't do? But yeah, I know, it's a big company so they may change the rules.
Anyway, I think that all those trolling now assholes should be just banned. It's disgusting and untoward. This board really doesn't need trolling assholes.
It's a very difficult situation for many of us and many of us will not sleep well for a while. Personally I just hope that this situation will be resolved soon and I keep my fingers crossed.

I forgot to mention that I called them and requested the wire transfer yesterday and they replied to me also yesterday, so they are working also in week-end, this is a good sign for all of us ....
Question is, if transfer to and from VV to Wallet is threw Epassporte and Visa decided to cancel the issued cards, then Why can't Epassporte let us transfer money from VV to Wallet. Seems like there's more to it then "We don't know and it's not our fault" ONLY explanation we had so far.

I think that the money from VV in ePassporte account can not be moved to wallet cause ePassporte wants not to move any money from VV in oder for them to have a record and be according with the money from VV blocked in the bank by Visa, as far as I read in here on the board, this is my answer to you my friend...

Thanks Michael, that pretty much clears up my UK issues.
For my Thai account which is already document verified, do I need to provide any bank documents for a wire transfer?
As you may know its not easy getting English written documents here, I only have a passbook with just my name.
My bank visa debit card doesn't even have my name on it, fucks sake
Copy of ID and wire request form is needed to withdraw via wire.
Michael, I asked you couple of pages back for the information of how many people work for ePassporte, excluding outsources support? Can you provide such an information?

Can you still transfer money to another Epass account if your money is tied up on your Virtual Visa card? I'm sure it has been answered here but I can't find it...
One question for Michael... if epass got that warning two days before it all happened why epass didn't make some statement and inform users to withdraw all money they can because there gonna be some problems (maybe)
I was just about to request a new card. Damn, i'm broke anyways...i only have $5 on my virtual card. I assume everything will now be stored in Wallet right?

came very late into this unfortunate situation, been in Holland all weekend, with no laptop. But, at this point, what does it matter how many people they have working for them? The system was running smoothly up to this point, so obviously enough

No
But its more than most people think, running something like ePassporte requires a lot of man power.
I think your suspicions have merit...as it is my understanding that the bank in question has not lost its authority to issue Visa Cards...only the Epassporte account is affected.
When you're running down my country hoss...you're walking on the fighting side of me!
are there currently negotiations happening with Visa over the weekend or is everything silent or waiting for the long weekend to get over? Or in other words: Was there any progress being made since Friday morning?
Second thing is, how is your personal evaluation of the situation with the visa electron? Is there any chance left that it could be activated again? Or if there will be a resolution be found it will more likely be that we have to wait for a replacement card?
I ask this, because that bugs me more than the funds being frozen right now. I usually only keep a little balance. But, I am having sponsor payouts on hold and I need those funds very soon. I do not want to re-route those payouts prematurely to wires (not even possible in all cases).

Since they're a privately held company they don't have to answer the question, but is very curious, nevertheless. Why the secrecy? It makes people wonder...
Anyways, the 25 employee number is, imho, probably in the ballpark +/- 10.

yeah people dont seem to get that "visa virtual" is a pre-loaded credit card so the money is ON THE CARD.
It's not a "Pre-Loaded" credit card. It's either a debit card with a sub-account or it is simply pre-loaded plastic without a sub-account. 3 very different types of cards.
The problem here is that a sponsor can still send money to an affiliate's accounts wallet...
You should really DEACTIVATE this, guys, because why would you want money on an account where you CAN'T recover your money??
yes, I know, but many guys here don't have a US Bank Account...
.
Even if you don't have a US bank account you can still get the money out your wallet by international wire transfer.
Their should be no problem for anyone to get their funds out of their wallet.
So if a sponsor pays you to epass, and you have it set to receive the funds in your wallet, you can always get the funds out.
Please stop speculating nonsense. Its time to sit and wait for the resolution next week. Meanwhile it would be great if most sponsors start working in an alternative backup payment method to Epassporte just if this happens again. Looks like OKPAY is a nice option with debit Mastercard and P2P transfers.
Ok the visa on epass stop working. But the affiliate programs still send moneyst to epassporte or ? I just want to know is there have any problems to peer / peer sending moneys ?
i paid my tgpalliance.com submitter access september 1... and then sept.2 pops out the epass problem... until now my submitter access at tgpalliance is still inactive. dang!
