I only get paid by a couple of sponsors though epass, and only use epass to pay for services that people need epass payments for, gallery designs, submit passes, ect.... Unfortunately I was letting funds just build up all year pretty much.
I would hate to lose the funds. What a bummer, and a bad time to "save" up my money for a rainy day. Guess my paid submit spots will have to wait.AKA - ClubsexyComment

After 15 years in this biz, I have never seen one company that lost there visa or mastercard ever pay webmasters. Best thing to do, is screen shot your loss and when tax time comes take it as a loss. I just had a sponsor pay me a pretty decent payment I just got it this morning and when I went to pay for dinner tonight and my card was declined, I was like oh well another done went south.May all your hits be clicks and all your clicks be $$$Comment

The money won't transfer unless you have it set to go to your wallet and you still have the ability to get money out of that via a bank transfer, so it wouldn't be the end of the world. Everything incoming goes right into the Virtual Visa account. Obviously can't have that. How about allowing incoming funds to go directly into the Wallet? I suppose it doesnt work like that. Or does it?

i never used epass, but you guys gotta remember epass is a big company, with millions of USD$$ in that "locked account"
Visa just doesnt close big accounts.. epass is HUGE, as in they move millions a day... my best guess is the US govt got involved and is here to spoil things..
Im guessing this cuz i know some people can actually use epass to avoid taxes easily....
Anyway, goodluck, but ive never seen visa freeze anything, then unfreeze it.. you guys cut your losses and move on..
Epass knew what was going on... Heck their ceo's probably had meetings with top visa guys, etc.. they just didnt wake up and see their account frozen... if an account with millions is going to get frozen, you better believe some top people are talking about it..

Of course Epass knows what's going on. Their rep on these forums just won't say shit because EVERYONE would take their money out of the wallet section as soon as they can, the company would collapse soon after.
The REALLY shitty thing from my perspective is that by default, money goes into the virtual visa section. So I have quite a few thousand affected by this. Cash which I need to pay hosting bills, buy food, pay rent. A huge clusterfuck.
There is no way Visa canceled them without some kind of notification. If affiliates/companies heard the real reason we'd see rats fleeing a sinking ship faster.Comment

I did have two sponsors send epasses yesterday 9-2 that are now locked. But, I know I aint alone.
I'm just glad I got my ass up and went to the bank on Wed.
Edit: Set to Wallet.. Done. Easy enuf. They have been pushing the whole keep it safe in your wallet stuff for a while. Guess I should have done that earlier. But then you had to transfer out of Wallet to withdraw.. which is why i didnt go for the Wallet setting earlier.
Prob best to use the Wallet 100% and then only do occasional large transfers to your bank account. Dont use the card. Less back and forth that way and safer. (When this mess gets straightened out)Last edited by Vjo; 09-02-2010, 10:00 PM.Comment

right, and this will probably be the end of epass.. EVERYONE is trying to withdraw.. lets see how that works.. lets say they have $100 million in customer funds, by the time they process all the wires, they'll have $1million..
i dont see how anyone is not requesting a wire for the money in their wallet now.. when everyone rushes to withdraw money, shit will fail.._________________

Dont bother changing your shit to go to the wallet. No one can send money out of the visa accounts right now on epass (We thought maybe we could transfer money between accounts that way to get it from visa to wallet using a 2nd account as a buffer, but didn't work.), and no one will send you wallet funds as those are the only ones they have any hope of recovering again. I've only got $2270 in there, not nearly as much as some of my clients and friends have stuck in there, but you don't really find that laying on the street either.Mechanical Bunny Media

As for the funds, if they are in their bank account and they can move them (my understandment is that it was just a visa problem), all they have to do is write a check for the balance of each account and send it to the addresses on file for each account.
I dropped epass a while back when they went berserk with the document demands.
What will they do with the webmasters information (copies of IDs, passports, address, etc.) they gathered? If anyone demands it now I'm sure they will give it away for a chance of saving the business.
If the us government or someone else ever wanted a list of pornographers, gamblers, etc. It's their golden chance...Comment

For people asking WHY you can't move from wallet to visa This seems like a no brainer, VISA has SUSPENDED ALL CARDS, so therefore you can NOT pass money to something that in a sense is not there, or active. (that's how I see it)

once my local bank account was shut down due to NSF (thanks to my divorce) Epass becamethe ONLY way I've handled my entire biz and personal life (those that think that is stupid need to srsly look at what Epass IS) Every single bill minus my rent is paid via Epass Electron card and my virtual visa card, the rent is paid by taking my Electron card to the ATM
All of my clients pay me via Epass, and the few sponsors I promote also pay me via Epass. etc etc etc
Now for the kicker, I lost my actual wallet about a year ago inside was my license, and social security card, I can NOT open a new bank account without BOTH of those items and I can't get those items replaced without one or the other PLUS a birth certificate the catch, I'm adopted, case is sealed and I've been denied a birth cert for over 15 years now. so all I have is an expired state ID card that works most times I'm carded BUT won't get me a new bank account....
All of this was diff prior to 9-11 mind you, but now after that you need allll sorts of extra papers to do damn near anything.
oh, and my Birthday is in 3 days AND all the bills are due
Hope this gets fixed, I have to call the Bank 2morrow and HOPE that my old biz account is still active so at least I can start asking for wires and checks for my pending deals.

I always assumed that the Visa Virtual worked sort of like a prepaid debit card, and you were loading said prepaid card with money when you transferred it from the wallet to the VV.
So since that VV is now frozen, the money on it is rendered inaccessible.
Luckily I only have a few companies that pay me via epass because they don't offer any other international payments, and I only had $22 or so in my VV right now. I do hope that this gets resolved quickly, since the first few days of the month are when I usually do receive the few epass payments that I get.
I'm crossing my fingers that a solution is found sooner rather than later.Give me money & buy my links here, damn it!Comment
