| What is the Future of the Pay Site Biz Model and Affiliate Program(s)? Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this. First of all, please excuse my ignorance on this subject as I have been living under a rock for the last 5 years and NOT involved in the Adult Industry (inner circle) for the last 5 years. Are the owners of Major Affiliate Programs going after the content pirates that steal their content? If so are they winning or losing the court cases? How has the business model for Major Affiliate programs changed in the last 5 years? How do you anticipate it to change in the next 5-10 years? What is the (approx) Cost and/or value of an EXCLUSIVE well shot B/G scene? What is the adult industry doing to protect themselves from content pirates? I have been hearing that the Adult Internet Business was dead since 1998 aka "The Sky is Falling" point of view since 1998 but it's not going anywhere.....or is it?

 | The future of paysites is pay tubes. Ive been doing quite a few lately. Affiliates are swinging towards buying up content themselves since it is so cheap now and making their own pay tube sites rather then pushing programs.

In answer to your first question. No...they are not really going after them. In answer your second question. I personally am not aware of any wins in court...the ones I am aware of have been thrown out of court. Their are a couple of active court cases that have yet to be determined. In answer to your third and fourth question. The biggest change I have seen in affiliate programs is more hosted gallaries...more embeds...more videos...more content available. In the next five years there will be fewer and fewer affiliate programs. In answer to your fifth question. Complaining is about all.

I thought the new game was advertising online. Give the people free porn via a tube site and make money from selling ad space for products and adult crap. I think the adult internet porn industry is going to simply turn into television. All the shows are free, and they make money from commericials. There will still be "pay per view" and "pay for cable" (those rare niche sites and of course some cam sites) but the vast majority of it will be free television. Advertising is the new adult game, not the porn itself.

 | Ok..let's take 4tube.com for example...Just at first glance my gut tells me that the money is made through affiliate programs...Yes or No? If Yes...is it the same affiliate programs that owns the content that they are giving away for Free aka "pirating" ? I'm just trying to make sense of all this

If you do it with small niches that aren't oversaturated yet (say, balloon fetish videos or something), it is hugely successful.

 | Some people are fighting, Topbucks, ten, some gay company that I can't recall. I'm sure some others are as well. The problem is, most sites that you can sue, comply with dmca so you really can't sue them unless you want to lose. The business model itself hasn't changed much, the amount of affiliates has changed greatly which has forced some programs to run things a little different, internally. What has changed is more people using trial upgrades, they produce more money and it's a way to protect your content from leaches. $800-$2500 Not much we can do because members demand for the content on various formats. As well DRM is another cost on top of already tight margins on a large number of companies. Piracy does happen through members, but the major source is password leaks and the pirates just buying a membership. Protecting yourself, isn't easy when we can't set a standard because of the various technologies people use. The sky isn't falling, the technology is shifting.

Plus pinning your future on big Dating and Cam sites is a risky business. They will open their own Tubes and then cut down on affiliates.

 | So why not run some ad-campaigns like: Hey! We're all going to cook down here. So, you know, about that whole reproduction thing... Yeah, it might not be very nice to your potential offspring. *EDIT: Or will people learn to see through that sort of propaganda?
