    amerinoc reseller plan

anyone here using amerinoc reseller plan?

those packages are tempting although my hosting right now use WHM/cPanel. if they are using this i would jump on it right now. but i have to think about it first. i checked the directadmin, for me its not bad. i'm just used with WHM/cPanel. i've been using for over 6 years.

how's your experience with them? talked to someone there and he is very helpful.

i think i would get an account there very soon.

    what about you?

Been with them for years. They are good guys, not only quick but also knowledgable and experienced support = no rookie mistakes. Without them, I would clearly not be where I am today. This is also why I have constantly expanded my business there.

But question is not really why I am an Amerinoc fanboy, question is more, why aren't you yet on the boat? Because there are no reasons for not liking Amerinoc.

Feel free to sign up here: http://www.amerinoc.com/104.html

Have just started using them and am happy so far with the speed and have found DA has some pros over cPanel.

The one issue I do have so far is that I have to run certain directories, files and scripts as 777 otherwise they won't work. I'm not the most knowledgeable webmaster but everything I know says this is a security issue. Amerinoc supports says that's just the way it has to be...

            My two cents.

                Within my Amerinoc reseller account...

To be able to edit my WP themes within WP's interface the files have to be set to 777. Of course I can change them back to their original permissions after I'm done editing. Rather than going through all this I edit them through DA's file manager or via FTP. One other thing, It's been a few weeks since I set up my sites but I think that there was a plugin that I wanted to use but it wouldn't work unless it was set to 777, I think I chose not to use it after all.

I also use a script on a couple of other domains that writes to files in several directories. This script ran fine on my primary server with permissions set as 755 but I have to have the directories & files on my Amerinoc plan set to 777 for it to be able to work.

None of my sites on Amerinoc are particularly high traffic and are primarily set-it-and-forget-it type sites. I got the plan so I could get my adult sites off my "mainstream server". If any of these Amerinoc sites do get hacked I'll try reupping from backups or just start over again from scratch.

                Good luck

This is not specific to this host .. Some scripts , to fully function , require the 777 permissions on certain folders .
The best way around , if you use a known script as wordpress, is to rename those folders to something else ( random ) and naturally replace all relation to the old name to the new name.

But again, not specific to Amerinoc .
I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

Hi, you can always contact us through our helpdesk, we don't use GFY for support. ;-)

We don't write the scripts, sometimes that's just how they need to be set for certain functions to work. We have been in the hosting business for over a decade with 1000's of Wordpress sites running on our network. If you would like to discuss this further with a tech please feel free to contact us with your specific concerns. Some hosts use suphp to allow this, and the client just thinks "hey, it works at HostG****" but then all of your files are vulnerable.

It is my understanding that cpanel has a backup and restore feature that will allow you to back it up so that it can be restored to DirectAdmin.

Since all my scripts were running fine on my dedicated server (different provider) set as 755 (and some set less) I was confused when they had issues on my new Amerinoc reseller plan. I naturally assumed I was the one screwing up some setting(s) somewhere.

It took quite a few hours of messing around before finally coming to the conclusion it was not an issue I created which is when I submitted a support ticket. Wish I had known about this from the outset as it sucked up a good part of a beautiful Sunday

After a little research I found this to be true and decided to stay at Amerinoc since A) the server speed has been great so far ( ) and B) their tech support were quick to try to help ( ) -- even though the only "solutions" were running things as 777 or accepting the loss of certain functions.

i've had managed accounts from different hosting but sometimes didn't bother to have them install my script if i can. some hostings have their of cpanel and such that i don't know or don't have enough access thats the time i would have to hit them up and have them install scripts. if i can i will do but thats a PLUS! i will get an account there soon. i love those free IPs also.

I've been with Amerinoc/Phatservers for over 8 years the ticket i have quoted is the NORM these guys are on top of anything you need ANYTIME you need it. And yes they do WP installs and will bend over backwards to make HOSTING the last thing you will ever have to worry about
They are always VERY fast and they ALWAYS have been. I don't think my sites have been down AT ALL in over 3 years and that is a very strong statement
                                                  Hope this helps

                                                      anyone from amerinoc?
It is not a pain in the ass. I have sites at Amerinoc where I choose to keep DirectAdmin open (and DirectAdmin is so much better than CPanel - Yes, I use both) and manually change permissions.

For those times I did not wish to have to change permissions, I contacted support, and they fixed my problems. With Amerinoc support, if a problem isn`t resolved within 15 minutes, its a serious fucking problem - and a its always been a problem that I created.

When I DO create a problem, they pause the PS3 game they were playing, look at each other and softly laugh. After muttering a soft àsshole, Chris gets up from his seat, fixes my fuckup, and returns to Shatter.

I rarely send in tickets, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

Shit, sorry. I rarely send in support tickets, but most of them get resolved instantly. I`ve sent in tickets, come to GFY to kill a couple of minutes, and when I check my email there`d be a message saying that my ticket was resolved. I cannot speak highly enough of this company.

I have both dedicated and virtual accounts with them. Amerinoc takes care of my virtual account as well as they look after my dedicated Phatservers account. They do not fuck around. They sit there waiting, lonely and hoping, that something goes wrong - just so they can actually do something instead of playing on the PS3 all day.

                                                              Good luck

i'm having the same problem as well now( 777 .htacess in the main directory would be suck).. damn! i'm getting confused and dissapointed!!! a lot of scripts are not working and the database transfer was not handled right. dunno i'm trying to get a hold of support but they don't seem to answer what i was expected. almost 12 hours of no answer regarding my last critical ticket.. too many support tech to talk i would want to talk to just someone who really can fix the problem so as well not to confuse any other tech.. any good support you guys like in amerinoc?

how i wish this problem ill be fix immediately. its been 3 days i think when we initially started transfering sites..

Sorry to hear support hasn't gotten back to you. They have been quick to respond the few times I contacted them. If you haven't done so already you might try submitting a NEW support ticket to ask if they've received your most recent support ticket(s).

As to the 777 issue, I am running my htaccess as 644 with no problem. It's some of the scripts I use on some sites and parts of Wordpress that I use on others that needed to set as 777. The parts of WP that needed higher permissions were some of plugins and the the themes.

I only changed those WP plugins I absolutely needed to 777 and stopped using the others as I want a minimum # of possible access points. The themes I just leave at 644, 755 or whatever their defaults are (am not on my own computer right now) and just ftp in and edit by hand as needed.

As to the scripts used on other sites, I worked through them on a trial and error basis to find out what parts needed to be set at 777 and which parts ran fine with more limited access.

Wish I could give you more specifics but everybody's setup is different. Plus I'm sure the team at Amerinoc will get you dialed in soon.
