I agree, it seems to me that safety wasn't one of the priorities when they designed that seat.

Safer than no child seat at all. My dad had the same car - in yellow too - when I was little and I don't think it did me any harm.

Shit i remember going on long road trips with my parents. In the back of the station wagon we would construct forts with blankets. I dont think we EVER wore seatbelts back then.

this car is not equipped with airbags so it is actually ok to have a child seat in the front.
