Arcade Fire's "The Wilderness Downtown" (HTML5 Goodness)

Arcade Fire's "The Wilderness Downtown" is a Chrome "experience," highlighting what modern, HTML5-compatible browsers are capable of rendering.

Multiple windows run and close in coordination with the music, and?easily the neatest part of the demonstration?your browser will incorporate Street View imagery of your childhood home (after you provide the address)

Fire up Google Chrome and go here

Something tells me that it was probably pitched to them by Google but whatever it was a great use of their tech.

Did everyone else get little windows turning on and off? An extremely annoying experience to have with a browser. I know it's a demo, but if this is what is to come with html5, then it looks like it's time to drop the pc and go fully mobile.

                      Did you use Chrome?

The "little browsers turning on and off" are the browsers filled with the content of the clip. If you don't have that, it's not working properly for you.

I saw them at Rock Werchter in Belgium. I too really enjoyed their music. Didn't give me chills but was quite impressed

                              I got that.

Still, while flawed, its a pretty stunning piece of work.

Each window that popped up should have had a google street view perspective that streamed in time with the music.

Try a popular address like "times square" to get the real effect.
