    President Obama chuckles when Brian Williams asks him about polls that show may Americans still believe he is a Muslim. He says he doesn't pay much attention to those polls, because "I can't spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead."

    "I don't think the American people want me to spend all my time on it," he says.

    Obama is clearly intent on casting himself as above the political fray, saying American politics is in its "silly season." For example, he swears he didn't watch any of Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally on the National Mall yesterday and says he doesn't find it surprising that "a Glenn Beck can stir up some of the people."

    "I'm making decisions that are not necessarily good for the nightly news and not good for the next election, but for the next generations," he says.

                  Obama ignored the economy too
                  Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

                                      i think lobbyists in general and the fact that companies can donate unlimited money to political parties is what is ruining the US. it doesn't matter anymore what the people want, only things happen that someone pays enough for.

                                                  To a point that may be true, but when the very largest corportations decide to throw hundreds of millions of dollars in opposition to Obama's agenda, it is hard to compare his position with the do-nothing Bush administration.

                                                  I don't remember Big Oil, Wall Street, and the Health Insurance companies rallying against Bush for example, so I'd say Obama is actually fighting much harder for the real people.

                                                  Unfortunately brainwashed idiots don't understand the divisive message being pushed by Fox and the Tea Baggers, is EXACTLY what the corporations that control washington actually want you to believe, to divide us against ourselves. They OWN that station and they now OWN that movement!

                                                  Once we see the corporations are too powerful, and we notice the middle class is under attack, the powers that be offer up distraction after distraction. Obama is a Muslim, Obama is a Socialist, Obama is a Communist, be afraid of everything! Hey, someone is building a mosque, be afraid! Hey, Iran may be buliding a bomb, be afraid! And on and on.

                                                  Why should any member of the right get elected in November? Because they wanted to see Obama's birth certificate more than their competition? They sit back and spit on the President. They offer nothing, and suggest repeating the failed policies of yesterday that got us into this mess to begin with, and for that they should get voted in?! PLEASE!

                                                  But hey, you can always save your future by investing in overpriced gold through Glenn Beck, or by stocking up on guns, bibles, and ammunition. That should work out well in the long run for you, no doubt! </sarcasm>

It's the will of the money, not the will of the people. Corporations (and the donations that come with them) have fucked this system to the hilt. Your question implies that Obama's attempt to fix the problems this country has not been able to solve for years (energy dependence, high health insurance costs, unregulated Wall Street etc.) will fail, as they always have in the past.

I am very happy Obama IS trying to change the status quo. It is why the large corporations are so desperate to make him look bad. THEY ARE SCARED!

                                                                                                                                      Obama may have to accept some of the stupidity that is present in congress, including Dems who have been bought off too, so it is a major uphill battle, but he is not the same corporate shill they are used to. He is progressive, and although you can always sight lobbyist connections and stuff, Big Oil, Wall Street, and the Health Insurance companies HATE him! That should be proof enough, that he is not the same old same old.

I want the president/congress BOTH dem and rep to do try to fix things without taking away liberties and freedom. Both Obama and Bush have speed up the decay of liberties and freedoms faster than any other presidents in history. This is nothing new, leaders for 1000s of years have come up with "new ideas" which are really old ideas packaged differently to enslave the people.
