a few counterpoints...

Illegal Aliens Are Here illegally = need to control it

we are controlling it. just not to your satisfaction.
and not to a lot of other people

Special Interests Eliminated = remember Barry saying that bills would pass on their own merit?

you know this includes the gun lobbyists
I understand that

Gun Ownership Is Sacred = Legal gun ownership I believe is our right

see above

Government Must Be Downsized = Federal is getting too big. See 14th amendment

our world is big, our problems are big, our government is big. natural progression.
Government is growing faster than everything else, that is counter productive in the long run

Deficit Spending Will End = this really needs to stop, ending the wars is great start

and Medicare and social security and everything else sucking money from the till.
Agreed, that's why you shouldn't put a liberal in charge of it
Political Offices Available To Average Citizens = God forbid we should elect someone that was a community organizer to be our president

yes... please, god... forbid this.

LOL, I was talking about Barry
Intrusive Government Stopped = Law enforcement should be able to monitor some things, but you can't take a shit without a camera watching you in some places

intrusive government = oxymoron.
Agreed, but there could be more limits to the government power

English As Core Language Is Required = America is suppose to be a melting pot, let them melt in English

do you propose we arrest and jail those choosing to speak something other than English?
because if not, this is a non-issue
No, just not spending resources to talk to people that want to be citizens

Traditional Family Values Are Encouraged = they can encourage it

and we can reject it.
Agreed

Common Sense Constitutional = I think this is following the constitution as it was intended

do we really know clearly what was "intended"? Everyone seems to have their own interpretation of what they intended.

I feel the same way, but some of the things are pretty clear

As in Caps, do you mean caps like in the cap gun you have or capital letters, or upper case letters? Because I never used all capital letters or upper case letters. Try not to confuse them with Bold lettering next time

You are a moron

I will say one thing about Vend, he is able to hold a conversation like an adult, which is much more than can be said for cambaby or Demon. I don't mind hitting points back & forth with V because I don't walk away feeling like I was attacked by a yip-yip dog on the ankle.

Sorry the lesser of two evils does little to convince me of any competence of our government

Our government is BROKEN everyone knows that, and the problem is the culture of politics is controlled by money, individual people want to CHANGE that and the only way is to vote OUTSIDE of the main party.

I think an important distinction is that our government is controlled by special interests. Money is merely the agency through which they exert their influence. Money is the means of exchanging value for value and the means for sustaining life. To imply that money is evil is to infer that value is evil and that life is evil. Any person can spend his life for good or evil. Money can not be immoral any more than a gun can be immoral it is how the person uses it.

I didn't really know much about the Tea Party Movement. I figured it was an offshoot of the Objectivists but looking it up in wikipedia this is what they advocate:

Quote:

1. Identify constitutionality of every new law: Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does. (82.03%)
2. Reject emissions trading: Stop the "cap and trade" administrative approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants. (72.20%)
3. Demand a balanced federal budget: Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax modification. (69.69%)
4. Simplify the tax system: Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words – the length of the original Constitution. (64.9%)
5. Audit federal government agencies for constitutionality: Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce[clarification needed] that engages in an audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities. (63.37%)
6. Limit annual growth in federal spending: Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57%)
7. Repeal the health care legislation passed on March 23, 2010: Defund, repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. (56.39%)
8. Pass an 'All-of-the-Above' Energy Policy: Authorize the exploration of additional energy reserves to reduce American dependence on foreign energy sources and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation. (55.5%)
9. Reduce Earmarks: Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark. (55.47%)
10. Reduce Taxes: Permanently repeal all recent tax increases, and extend permanently the George W. Bush temporary reductions in income tax, capital gains tax and estate taxes, currently scheduled to end in 2011. (53.38%)
I'd have to say that I largely agree with the majority of this. It seems to be about fiscal responsibility. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I'm curious what are the viewpoints people disagree with.
