Doing something you enjoy doing that brings you pleasure is a hobby. If it interferes with your job, fiances, and relationships it's called stupidity.

I have a friend of mine who is remote control cars and remote control planes. The amount of money he spends on these things is fucking insane - nearly half of his income. But I wouldn't call it an addiction - it's a hobby he enjoys.

May of last year, she wrote this heartfelt, well written blog post about how her life had fallen apart and now she's taking responsibility and will retire and start cleaning up her life. The blog post was huge and posted everywhere. She got hundreds of comments I believe and everyone was supporting her wishing her well and talking about their own struggles with substance abuse. A week later she wrote another post saying oh I never said I was completely retiring and would still direct for Vivid. LIES! She never once said she would direct or remain behind the scenes. I searched the entire blog. Then everyone turned on her. It was a publicity stunt leading up to the Celebrity Rehab appearance. I always believed she lied to get sympathy and publicity because no matter what, Kendra Jade would still be the more famous porn star on that show and she's been retired for years. Penny even turned on Kendra during that show. Jealous much??

Before ever appearing on Celebrity Rehab, the most publicity Penny ever got in her life was that retirement speech.

Yikes! I agree with your post 100% because I got the exact same impression from her actions.

I feel dirty for agreeing with you. :helpme

That doctor on that rehab show I've seen on other shows and he seems like a total creepout. I can't believe anyone takes him seriously. It's a tv show, featuring people you've wanted to watch before (at their "real" jobs on other tv shows?) and made for you to watch. Dont forget to buy all of the products advertised as well to complete your addiction to celebrity rehab. Muahaha the circle nears completion.

And just knowing stats and details about something is what being a "fan" is all about. How about decorating your tv room with your favorite sports teams colors and miscellaneous crap? Yelling at the tv for the guy to catch the ball and RUNNNNNN motherfuckerrrrrrr!!!!!!!1 Thats clearly overboard and in need of a mental health professional. Or it's just being a fan. (?) Maybe people who know all the movies a pornstar has been in is just a fan and otherwise they're just another boring meatbag around the office. Like how Bob Costas can tell you which left fielder once caught a fly ball with a bag of peanuts thrown at him from the stands. Could probably tell you what number he was, what his hitting average was, broken down by year and trivia about his momma.

I do not buy for a second that she is a sex addict. Maybe an attention addict, but not a sex addict.

czarina 08-26-2010 08:35 AM

if she were a true sex addict, she would've banged the talent for free. But she didn't, did she?

Either way I wish Penny the best. I have had the opportunity to hang with Penny at shows and out in the real world and found her to be tops in my books.

My g/f's hubby is into those things, she calls and bitches about how much that stuff cost. He spent $1,000 on something and boy was she mad. I had to listen to that for a hour!

1. sex addiction is not a medical addiction, it is more along the lines of gambling addiction or generally speaking an obsession...
The "condition" shares nothing with medical addictions such as drinking/drug use. Some medical professionals calls the condition itself a hoax.
2. even if there was such a thing a sex addiction, penny was not addicted, sure she enjoyed sex and had perhaps a slightly higher than normal sex drive.
3. she eyed an opportunity to exit the game with some bravado, gotta give it to her, she is a very charismatic and communicative person.

did she light up a joint for Oprah?

_andy_ 08-26-2010 05:47 PM

You can debate what addiction is till the cows come home. Bottom line, it takes balls to get introspective and face your issues dead on, and then actually make changes in your life. Judging from her blog, the booze was the biggest issue, and the rest; the snorting, the smoking, the fucking all stemmed from that. So kudos for her for self improvement.
