From looking at what you are doing I'm guessing you are trying to encode everything in the RTE file on drive E.

Normally I transfer whatever files need to be encoded into the same directory as WM8Eutil.exe. That's not necassary but that just makes it easier for me. I imagine that is part of your problem. It doesn't seem to be able to access your input folder. That's the type of little problem that can make a night too long and suck royally.

You can also move you WME8util file to your E:/ drive, as long as the files are in the same directory as that file :2 cents:

Fuck it man, it looks like you need cleaner unless you can change directory in the C prompt. Try cd /E, that's a Unix command but it might work. If not, cleaner is easy but you really won't be abble to use your comp much for the next 30 hours with all of that encoding.

Just drag and drop all of your files into the batch window in Cleaner. It really is just that simple. Then right click on the first one and click advanced and play with your settings. When you are finished you should save that setting. Then Shift+click on the last one so you select all and right click again and select the saved setting. All of them will say ready. Then hit start. You are done, go get some pussy or somehing cause you have a while to wait... especially with all the vids on an external drive! I hope it's a 7200 rpm firewire drive!

You might want to take one file and play with the encoding settings before you load all of them into the batch window. This way you can get the settings correct faster and first.

I am going in cleaner now (im pretty familiar with it) ... ive tried every GUI for wm8, and ive tried everything under the sun with the command line. honestly, i care about the quality, but its only going to be so good for dialup. i think i got a pretty good tweak in cleaner, i prefer a lower framerate and cleaner image... fuck it. if i go insane nothing will ever get encoded.

I appreciate everyones help on this thread, and if there is anything i can do to reciprocate, never hesistate to ask! I will be launching a private affiliate program once the site is ready (i dont want overexposure, just a handful of honest webmasters i can give exclusive vid/pic content to, i have asswads of it) - so if anyone of you who offered your help is interested, just send me an email (see sig below)

Naughty... what is your source file you are using in cleaner? i have never added a watermark in cleaner, and i dont see the options for it (i have cleaner 5 windows). I personally add my logo to my vids in premiere. i create a psd file the same size as the frame size of the input video, make sure you only import the layer with the logo, and then add it as another track, and render it out.

if you dont have premiere i guess this is a useless answer, but i thought id share it anyways...

tell me what you know about adding the wm in cleaner and ill check it out to see if i cant figger it out.

In cleaner, go to settings > image: at the bottom you see the option 'set watermark', click it and get your file. It must be a PICT file with Alpha channels. I did it exactly as the pdf manual says, with no luck :/

Problem is: I have Premiere as well, but what is the point of Cleaner (which main plus is the batch feature) when you have to render each movie in Premiere first anyway.

I do it is Vegas Video now, but then I have to do each mpg movie at a time, as I would like to batch at least 5 at the same time.

If you are going to give it a shot, make sure to read the manual first, you can download it for free on the website for Cleaner.

Ok, i just successfully added a watermark in cleaner. If im understanding you correctly i think i know what the problem is. I think you are under the wrong profile when you are doing the settings.

Under "Advanced Settings" there is Audio, AVI, DV, etc... are you on "Images" ???

If so, this is not for output of a movie file, it is for exporting a screen grab.

Anyhow, i just loaded one of my avi files into cleaner, set the destination, selected MPEG>MPEG-1 Video CD PAL (i prefer pal, your source might be ntsc) .. anyhow, this is moot. ANY of the video settings (MPEG, AVI, QT, and their subcategories: MPEG-1 VCD, MPEG-1 Web, and so on... ) should have the menu off to the right:

output
tracks
image
adjust
encode
audio
begin/end
metadata
summary

Under image, the last option bottom right is watermark. I checked the box, hit set, browsed for the image, and badda bing.

For the image, i made a .psd file the exact same dimensions as the video source file, and i put the watermark on that transparent image exactly where i wanted it to be on the video (bottom right for me).

i hope this helps, i didnt read the manual, i just tried this and it worked perfectly. Lemme know if this works or not, or if i can help any more :)

Actually, I did exactly what you did, except fololow the manual as far as the pict file is concerned. I will try to use a psd file tomorrow and see if that works.

Okay, I gave it a quick try. My version crashes when I use a psd format file.

What did you do with the psd file before importing into cleaner?

Do you see a small image on the right side of the filename after you selected it?
I do not when selecting a psd file :/

hmm. in photoshop i did file > new ... set it exactly to the same dimensions as the source im working on (720x576 in my case), res 300, RGB, transparent ... i also opened the logo i have and resized it to the proportion i wanted, copied it and pasted it into the 720x576 psd file, as one layer. moved it into the bottom right corner with a few pixels padding, saved it as a psd, thats it. it worked.
