                      you are quite right, i lumped them together somehow i think cuz they were both embroiled in controversy at the time? for some reason my brain lumps mapplethorpe and piss christ together.

                          ah yes, there were some issues at the same time with both artists, Serrano with the US Congress or some trial (don't remember exactly) and Mapplethorpe and the Corcoran Gallery fiasco, when he presented his infamous collection of black men with big cocks and the sado-maso collection
