Of course having clean air and water is not a bad thing. "Getting off" oil this century is probably impossible though. It is required for so many things no one (not even you) wants to give up.

Al Gore is making money on this. Even he admits that.

You need petroleum to produce solar panels.

Also, going into the next couple decades China will need unprecedented amounts of energy to support their enormous population. Currently China imports 1/3rd of it's oil. That figure will likely increase to 50% or more by 2020. Using alternative sources of energy and limiting their reliance on foreign oil is critically important to them. Unlike the US, who has enough domestic energy sources to not have to import any oil, China has no military presence in oil producing middle eastern countries. This is also why China has maintained relations with Iran.

to which I said that must be some crappy solar panels. According to that, to power one house would cost 200,000...for my parents they have put in about 5000 in the 15 years they have lived in this house and never paid an electric bill.
I apologize I read what you wrote wrong. I congratulate them on doing it so cheaply. But as you know this is government we're talking about here. Spending tax dollars and giving friends contracts doesn't equal cheap or being on a family budget. Jimmy-3's is a great example of that.. He won't mention the costs and says it was all free.. Free to the college maybe but my guess is tax dollars paid for it. And as he admitted the energy produced is sold to the power company and then sold to the consumer. We all know that government is going to want their cut. In addition once they start noticing they aren't receiving their cut off of all this "free energy" down the road they'll come in and say you have to pay taxes on your use of the sun. They are already doing it to farmers who are using rain barrels.

While that may be true the focus of the problem is finding out how much does man's influence have on that natural cycle.

The industrial age is a little over 100 years old and there is no disputing that has caused abnormal amounts of CO2 to enter the atmosphere. The question is how much EXTRA CO2 can the earth handle before the scales are tipped in the delicate balance of that natural cycle.

Let's say your car is earth and your closed garage is the atmosphere. Your car sits there parked for years and you can go in the garage even though CO2 is present and be perfectly healthy because nature has a way of balancing things out.

Then one day you start up the car and let it run. This adds an abnormal amount of CO2 and it's way too much for nature to handle naturally. The end result is the garage is no longer inhabitable.

So increased Co2 won't lead to increased oxygen? Plants use Co2 and they emit O2 so.... ya.. When growing indoors its very helpful to yield and growth in general to add Co2 to the room environment.

Dude, it's the CO (Carbon MONOXIDE) that would make the garage uninhabitable NOT the CO2

I had CO2 on my mind and misspoke when I said the car would produce it instead of carbon monoxide however, my example was to illustrate what happens when you add abnormal amounts of anything into a balances environment.

Al Gore, champion of Global Warming Caution, the seas are going to keep rising?

Why did he buy a sea side house?

                    http://www.climatechangefraud.com/en...ores-new-house

So I figure we're safe then
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                    think about that

What I learned from this thread:

Those who are in support of man-made global warming are showing evidence of nothing but ad hom and "where I live".

Those who deny it are backing their claims with citations.

The question is how much can you add before the plants die.

You can see that deforestation is taking place. Chopping down south america will take away an important source of O2 and building 1,000 coal burning factories and adding another 100 millions automobiles in the process begins to upset the balance that nature has managed to keep for a few million years.

                          It's just basic common sense.

You don't understand the science behind it, which is a real problem when you're arguing for something.

The Earth goes through cycles every 12ish years, scientists know exactly how these cycles work and what they do to the average temperature of the Earth.

What climate chance scientists do is replace the slowly declining numbers with an adjustment, as the Earth is currently going through the 'cold' stage of its cycle. What we see when we look at average temperate trends after adjustment is an increase in the average temperature of the Earth.

This process of heating and cooling due to planetary positioning and ocean heat levels has been known and understood for a very long time - at least, a long time before climate change was considered an issue.

Please don't respond until you do some research and actually learn a thing or two about climate change. You're nothing more than a 6 year old child putting his fingers in his ears and making a loud noise.

Climate change is real, and if you'd do a little research into the science behind it, [B]you would actually understand what the fuck you were talking about.
