Also the months after the next few months will be crucial. And the months that come up in 5 years will be crucial. As will the ones 20 years from now.

Anybody that did what Shap did by putting the biz on auto-pilot for years...is going to need to do what Shap is doing now. Get your hands back on the wheel of your business, re-learn it, get back up to speed, and then apply the traits and talents you had in the beginning of your success to the current conditions.

Nice post.

LOL I didn't put the biz on auto pilot. I just took a break from my regular 16 hour work days and stopped micro managing as much. I'm still making just as much. A few projects have dropped in size and a few have taken off. I just feel the next few are a real breaking point for everyone.

Still waiting for that traffic buying advice there, Mr. Guru. :)

The advice I've gotten so far? here it is (to save you time):

Buy buy buy buy. If it doesn't make you a profit, buy buy buy buy somethng else. If that doesn't make you a profit, buy buy buy buy something else....

And so on.

Of course, while I'm throwing all this money around BLINDLY hoping for a return the $ spent goes up up up up....and still no one tells me WHAT to buy. So on and on it goes.

Now, I'm not expecting anyone to say: "Go HERE and buy THIS specific traffic...." That would be crazy. What I'm looking for are some BASIC PRINCIPLES, customized around MY specific business setup, so that I CAN buy buy buy buy and try try try try but at least NOT spend ten grand on a wild goose chase. that's all.

Crazy?

a couple of items to add to anyones to do list that i believe will generate more revenue:

- focus on monetizing foreign traffic, the US pie is sliced into too many pieces to feed you. research what converts elsewhere and where the best traffic is ie: UK, mobile in S.Africa. make sure you have processing in place that will convert all of this traffic and also make sure you have accurate translations

- put time and energy into building good blogs to generate traffic as well as someone to build your internal traffic through social networking. youtube is a great tool if you know how to use it

- figure out how you can work with the tubes instead of fighting an uphill bloody battle. while you may retain your nobility by fighting, you will continue to lose money. instead of constantly complaining and blaming something that will never go away, figure out how to take back some of the money you are losing, even if it's a small portion. some of what was yours is better than none, you also have to eat :2 cents:

i'm no expert or veteran, only been around since 05. these are just my thoughts on how to deal with the current economy
