My dog loves running with the bike, thank goodness she comes home and takes a nice nap. Anyone here ride and walk the dog?

I used to with the dog I had as a child but had her running loose beside me not attached to the bike.
You really ought to get her a proper harness - pulling you along can't be good for her neck on just a chain.↑ see post ↑

She wasn't attached to the bike nor was she being pulled! LOL That was the 1st time we did that, we have a harness now.Comment

Yes, my little pooch loves to run with the bikes! We have a harness for her while we're on streets, but once we're on trails, she's off leash.email: [email protected]Comment

I think a dog should be on a leash for 2 reasons:
1) A leash on a dog is how a master shows ownership
2) A freed dog may run on the road and it can get hit by a carSend me an email: [email protected]Comment

We have five dogs, three American Eskimos and two Pomeranians, and we take all of them for walks while we ride our bikes. The one Pom loves it, and we can't peddle fast enough for him. The others are content with it. It does give them a lot of exercise, and they always sleep well.
Seriously? We got the idea to run them with the bikes from watching "The Dog Whisperer." Ceaser often either has high energy dogs pull him down the street while he's on rollerblades. We've also seen Ceaser run dogs with a bike. The pads are tough, and as long is it's not a puppy you're running, pavement isn't going to hurt them.

You can get wax for your dog's pads if you're running a lot on hot pavement or sand or ice in the winter. http://www.musherssecret.net/email: [email protected]Comment

Thanks! I've never seen that before. My daughter's chihauhau/fox terrier mix hates the cold pavement and always manages to yank her little boots off. We also had to take my daughter's Jack Russell to the vet because salt got caught in his pad and burned his little foot. You can get wax for your dog's pads if you're running a lot on hot pavement or sand or ice in the winter. http://www.musherssecret.net/
