Blizzard Sues Private Server Company, Awarded $88 Million !
Damn this host is fucking retarded, running World Of Warcraft servers and charging people, it serves them right !! They made $3 million, so there must've been a few people paying them. Lesson learned, don't fuck with a company's billion dollar baby !!! http://jetlib.com/news/2010/08/14/bl...y-awarded-88m/ Cali Thalen writes “A private server company, Scapegaming (aka Alyson Reeves), was ordered to pay Blizzard Entertainment over $88 million in damages after losing a lawsuit that was concluded last week. Scapegaming was operating unauthorized World of Warcraft servers and using a micropayment system to collect money from the servers’ user base, which according to the lawsuit amounted to just over $3 million. $85 million of that settlement was for statutory damages, and surprisingly only $63,000 in attorney’s fees.” |

These free servers usually cash in by selling 'perks' or bonus items for a cash value. Usually in micropayment form. Nice to see Blizzard doesn't fuck around, and they put the money where it should be, in their own pockets and not their attorneys.
