I got the E10 and love it. Haven't upgraded to E20 because of lack of speed.

Nikon Coolpix 5700 has a problem with short battery life.
I haven't used the other 2 Olympus cameras your asking about. |

Another vote for the e10. They also make faster memory cards that help the speed of the camera. Try http://www.bhphoto.com and look for the expensive cards from Lexar (sp?)

Go to www.dpreview.com and do a side-by-side comparison.
I did, and chose the Olympus C-4000. The only benefit I could see of getting the 4040 was having a remote. Don't need that, maybe you do. Didn't compare the 5050, it was higher than the spending limit I had set. |

my e-10 has taken a complete shit even after having the firmware upgraded. has a problem with finding focus, now its completely going down the shitter. i would get the nikon without a second thought, much better cams than olympus. i have a cheap ass nikon coolpix 885 and i prefer that over the e-10. as far as the battery life, just get a few rechargeables and you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks everyone for input... I've read the reviews on dpreview and it seems that Olympus 5050 is the way to go - the E10 is too big - especially that it can be used as a handy 'holiday' camera, soon! And Nikon 5700 seems to be to pricey for the same picture quality.
And I was told that Olympus makes good closeups (we'll, I'm not sure what kind of closeups this person meant LOL)... |

Hi, Marie
![]() I use Olympus E-20p, and I'm VERY satisfied with it! But I also know the E10 is great from what I've heared, so it's worth considering. PS: What country in Europe do u live in? Norway here...

its not the same picture quality...
just like 100 gigs of cogent isnt the same as 100 gigs of level3 bw, nikon is most expubidently a better camera maker. i only reply (after you having made your decision) because after using an e-10 and and e-20 and also a more consumer level olympus cam (i forget the model #), and now having a nikon, and friends of mine who are pro fotogs saying nikon kicks the crap out of olympus, i would always go with a nikon. now, for whatever purposes you are using the cam, you may be completely happy with the olympus, but, im just tossing in my ![]() |
