Just spent about 30 minutes laying down in the back yard. Saw a few little ones and a few really big, bright ones. You really just need to relax your vision and not focus on any one part of the sky because they are gone almost as quick as they appear. It was kind of a rush when I saw the first really bright one. I'll probably go back out after midnight and see what's up.

Took the oldest (10y/o) out to the back porch around 1:15am or so, we laid out there for about 20 mins, saw maybe 6 or 7 but there was a few clouds rolling (SLLLLLLLOWLY) through so that was a bummer, (and she got tired of the clouds lol)
normally the later the better, IF I'm still up about 3am or 4am I'm going to go out and check, if there is better action then at 1am I'll wake up the kid and drag her out to the porch lol.

Spotted a few light ones off the deck, but there's some bad light pollution here. Was planning on a midnight mountain hike which would have been great, but spent the day cleaning, and the wind is high, so i bailed last minute. Will probably head out again a little later in the night when things are supposed to pick up. Hopefully thw wind dies down a bit.Comment
