Die meisten Sponsoren sind zu faul dazu

Translated join pages are mostly provided by localbilling but it seems they don't convert very well.

Hit me up on ICQ (597 004 091), I made a list with sponsors providing direct debit

thats mostly the case when the currency is translated as well ... for example US folks are charged $19.95 but EU folks wud be charged ?19.95 (which is more than in dollars (?1 = $1.33 at the moment) ... do sponsors think EU folks are dumb? EU fellas will simply skip such crap and keep their money

that's one problem, the other (imho) is the language barrier - there *are* join forms displaying the correct amount in euros but the text is in english language.. most germans (as an example) between 40 and 60 just don't understand it and click away because they don't know what they're supposed to do.

glaube ich eher weniger - gerade diese altersgruppe hat nicht wie die kids heute den unterricht geschwänzt und KANN durchaus englisch bin selber 44 und recht sicher was US+EN angeht ich bin mir sicher es ist der umrechnungskurs der die EU surfer abschreckt - wir sind ja nicht blöd und wissen was der €uro wert ist - ich jedenfalls würde mir NIEMALS ne mitgliedschaft für zB. €29,95 kaufen (da wäre man ja bekloppt!)

würd' ich auch nicht machen, nie, da haste schon recht.
..ich kann ja nur mein umfeld betreffend sprechen, und da muss ich wirklich sagen, dass die oben genannte altersgruppe wirklich nicht gut englisch sprechen (und verstehen) kann.
gut, aber das ist dann warscheinlich auch unterschiedlich.
ich bin 31 und viele leute, die ich kenne (40+) haben da grosse defizite.

cliff notes: i need sponsors, that:

                  1) have geo-targeted join forms (german, spanish, italian, preferably translated by real human beings, that'd be way cool)
                  2) have a correct currency conversion thingy in place (e.g. 29.95 usd = 22.5 eur)
                  3) support direct debit in those countries - not only cc.

That is one reason but I was told that localbilling declines too many users.

But I agree, that might be another reason.

I agree, that shows that these sponsors don't know the market and just hired a translator.

I spoke to many sponsors and asked them for translated tours, join pages or even direct debit as payment option. But most of them either are too lazy or just earn enough money and have no interest in entering the german market.

Don't understand that as the german market isn't as huge as the US market but the users are spending money and there is less competition. There are only a hand full sponsors in germany.

I only know 1 sponsor who provides translated tours, join pages, ad tools and even support in several languages.

It's sad to see that some sponsors have even translations for italy, france and spain but not for germany.
