Trying to remove/change all links sending traffic to this dead ass sponsor that doesn't convert, I thought I'd found every page/site/etc with links to them but ccbill says I'm still sending like 500 uniques a day and I can't figure out where the hell it's coming from.. I know how to check referring URL's for transactions but the sponsor isn't converting for shit so all I have are clicks numbers..
How do you find the referring URL for clicks in ccbill?

maybe google picked up one of your links or fhgs and it is SE traffic? -
Don't make it worse
As far as I know I've found all pages I have that were sending any traffic to them, unless Google is sending SE traffic straight to their tour using my affiliate code, which I don't think happens anymore.Last edited by Jakez; 08-06-2010, 03:29 AM.Comment

ya it's early, I didn't see you say 500 hits a day. That would be a lot for SE traffic. I really don't know a way you can find out where ccbill traffic is coming from. SorryComment

We set ours as long as they can be. Therefore, if your traffic clicked our sites a day later, going back for more of that porn...
You would still get the click & sale if purchased.
Send your traffic our way if you want to just try change those links rather than delete them

Why does it always seem like you are talking to a brick wall with support people? Jesus fucking Christ man.
---------
Me: Hi I am trying to remove all links going to this dead sponsor (XXXXXXXX) but apparently I am still sending some traffic from somewhere, is there any way I can please see the referring URLs for this?
---------
CCBill reply: You can view this by running a transaction report with the "breakdown by URL" option checked in the lower left hand corner.
---------
Me: Yes i know that but there are no transactions because their sites are broke and not working. I need to know where im sending this traffic from so I can change the links to another sponsor that will generate transactions.
---------
CCBill reply: To clarify, you would like to remove an affiliate from your client account? Or you would like to stop your affiliate account from being linked to XXXXXXXX?
---------
Me: Am I speaking English?............................

CCBill: I understand now, I was a bit confused since you supplied both an Affiliate ID and Client account number in your original message. In order to see what subaccount and page of your's is hosting the link, try to do a report under Affiliates > Reports > Referring URLs, set a time period and do a search. Or you can click on Affiliates > Administration > Affiliates, do a search for their Affiliate ID, and click on Active Partner to disable them from your client account. Hopefully one of these methods will work for you.
-----------
Me: I am the affiliate XXXXXXXX is your client. I am not trying to disable anything, I am trying to pinpoint what site and pages of mine are sending traffic to this broken sponsor.
-----------
Do I have to explain to them what a website is and that traffic comes from links on them? WTF is going on...Comment

I just checked and also was unable to find a way to do this within the ccbill affiliate lounge since it does not appear to display referring urls where there are no transactions (IOW, for clicks).
You might try searching within your own server (html pages as well as any databases if applicable) for the referring string (sponsor code) and finding it that way. That is if it actually resides on your server.

I've looked everywhere and changed a lot of links already. However there is still traffic going to them somehow from somewhere using my ID.I just checked and also was unable to find a way to do this within the ccbill affiliate lounge since it does not appear to display referring urls where there are no transactions (IOW, for clicks).

I know they have to at least have this data somewhere if they are able to show referring URL's for transactions.Comment

thats the major drawback with ccbill. they dont pass that data through. some sponsors are setup to track it. but its not part of the api that ccbill uses in their affiliate program. sorry to give you the bad news.Network Of Adult Blogs With Hardlink Rentals AvailableComment

If there's a way within the public affiliate lounge then I'm too stupid to find it. You might have to hit up Michael O or another rep here and see if they might be able to get this as some sort of favor.
Regarding what I was talking about before did you try something like (on *nix) :
where 000000 is the unique affiliate ID where the clicks are being sent to.Code:grep -Rl 000000 /path/root_of_html_directory_here
Or did you already try something like this?

It could be the case that someone that signed to their program has made an error with their affiliate code and is actually using yours.. therefore you would see the clicks being counted in your affiliate admin. I have seen this happen before.Comment

Did you call them? They always seem pretty coherent on the phone. But even if you do get through to them about what you need, there are two possibilities that may stop you from getting the info you want:
1) CCbill may consider traffic sources to be privileged information and may only want to discuss that with the sponsor.
2) If the sponsor is broken as you say that may also impede tracking of the referring url.- As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.Comment
