Anyone play everquest?
If so what's the best starting class/race. For instance are magic users much more or less powerful than fighters or is it quite well balanced?
Nothing worse than playing a game for hours to sort of find you fucked it up at the start. |

Starting the game is fucking it up.
Do you really do so well right now that you can give up the huge portion of your life that a game like EQ will take from you? I have friends that play Dark Age of Camelot.. a lot. One of them has something like 50 or 60 days of played between his characters, in under a year. Yes, that's 50-60 24 hour periods of play. Think of what he could have done with that time. I spent far less playing, and I still felt guilty. Quiet might be able to do it, and some of the others on this board, but I sure couldn't. Cheers, Backov

I've got the PS2 beta sitting here and I haven't touched it since it arrived about a month ago. I'm afraid that I might get sucked in and not get anything done for weeks. I tend to get quite involved in these kind of things.

I do Ok enough to find a few hours here and there when I want a break from the mundane stuff
Played it a long while ago and don't find it addictive enough to worry too much. Makes a fun diversion but as I've only ever played it on a small scale I've always been unsure what makes a good character class in that game. I certainly don't have the time to try them all. |

The classes are balanced pretty well -- there's no real power difference. Play what's fun for you.
But gnomes are the coolest. |

Ah, good old Evercrack...my husband was looking at it when we were at Hastings yesterday, and I told him to go ahead and buy it...but if he got addicted to that crap, I'd cut his dick off.
He left it on the shelf.
