You talk about nature and you ask what's natural.
I have been studying behaviours of animals.
I think it's different for every animal.
Every animal has different natural instincts.
Some animals, such as mules, cannot reproduce.
Some animals fuck with many mates.
Some animals fuck with one mate repeteadly.

Depends on the species. Many species mate for life, from parasitic worms to primates. Seeing the prevalence of cheating among humans I would have to say yes, it is probably unnatural.

Just saw the link you were posting - so I guess the question was rhetorical.

Nature prefers genetic diversity. Reservoirs of genetic variants that might save the species whenever the dominant variant can no longer adapt to changed circumstance. That's what the male sex was "invented" for. Females have a smaller set/lower change of mutations whereas daily male sperm production (with more mutation chances as the male ages) insures way way more mutation changes. This works hand in hand with male promiscuity to maximize heterogeneity in any given gene pool.

It is a fact that even some "monogamous" bird species actually involve females that fool around
