    A 2.8GB torrent is floating around out there containing data from 100 million Facebook profiles. But don't freak out: all the data was already available publicly.

    These are profiles not set to private so its just a big downloadable list of profiles already available to anyone.

        Yeah... it's not really a leak, the info was already available, but actually collecting that amount of data would present a challenge to most people. Now, all they have to do is download a torrent.

            Until recently links from FB carried the true referer, so if the person clicking happened to be on a page that had a profile number on it you could do funny stuff like look up their name via the API...

            Imagine how well that would go down? "Hey, <actual_real_name>, does your wife know you're surfing porn? Click here to clean the evidence."
