My favorite sushi bar bestowed great honor upon me (pics)

I have introduced several GFYer's to my favorite sushi spot, Gu Gu Sushi and Roll in Hermosa Beach.

I went in yesterday and discovered they had created a new roll, called the baddog roll. It is made with cream cheese, deep fried shrimp, avocado and cucumber topped with smoked salmon, capers and white onion. I am not being biased when I say it is delicious!

If anyone is in the Hermosa Beach area and wants to try it out some time, I would be glad to introduce you to the best sushi this side of the Pacific Ocean.

I have taken a couple people (xxxjay, for example) here that told me [as we were walking in the door] that they do not really like sushi.

The first comment after trying it has always been, "that did not taste like sushi."

Besides, the baddog roll is topped with smoked salmon and the only other fish is deep fried shrimp. So no raw fish there.

Anyway, nice honor to get a sushi roll named after you!

Hopefully other customers won't think that it actually contains any dog in it.

This place has close to 200 rolls, of which I have probably had about 100 of them (have actually decided to go thru the list from A to Z to make sure I don't miss any) and this was one of the best, if not the best they have.

They have a ton of specialty rolls that you might consider "busy" at first glance, but the way they mix the flavors it is more like eating treats than cat scraps.
