the fact is that if we would have taken a long term interest in building the infrastructure of afghanistan after the soviet war, things might be different..

what i am blown away by is the fact that military leaders will reference outcomes of wars fought in the 20th century like ww1 and ww2. The world has changed so much since then so i find it hard to believe that war strategies of that time play any relevance to wars fought today.

the afghan terrain should be likened to the terrain of vietnam if anything adn i think therein lies the problem. guerilla warfare of the north vietnamese should have taught us that unless we are willing to decimate an entire country, we cant win that type of battle.

Anyone who's ever been violated by a person in a position of authority such as a local police officer should realize bad shit goes happens on a much higher scale when you're talking war and countries fighting. I doubt these documents even uncover shit that isn't recorded, anywhere.

So what's going to happen now? A site gets a bunch of traffic, media profits, and the government will just spin it and detract from what they should really be doing: fixing THIS country. Everyone loses.
