Hm, I dont know but with a sports car you got to count on a bit higher consumption. I just looked up some consumption test, the guy tried about 50km route several times, always with different style of driving and ended up with consumption between 10-16 liters per 100 km, I am not good with galons so convert it yourself. The car has over 300HP so being able to drive with it at 10 liters per 100km sounds like a miracle. Of course it goes up in a city or when you slam the gas pedal a bit more, but thats completely normal. If its really able to hold it about 12 L per 100km I think its a really great value for such a car.

Interesting point re: consumption. The main reason I mentioned the 350Z's consumption is because it's so much worse than that of the Z4, TT or SLK. Could amount to a significant amount of expenditure year by year, thus offsetting against the saving I would make by paying less to purchase it.
Also interesting about rear wheel drives - I've only ever driven shitty little cars. I'm an alright driver but not a great one. There's only one way to find out whether I can handle it - guess I'll just have to go for a few test drives!
She's a beauty! One of the ones I've been looking at is actually very similar looking - same wheels and body colour, although I'm looking at coupes rather than roadsters.Comment

Excuse me but this is BS, if youre buying a sports car, 2 or 3 liters per 100km dont mean shit. With a car like that youre not gonna make 100 000 km for year so it really means shit. Glad you mentioned that - cheers! I worked out roughly how many miles I'll do per year and then worked out what each car I'm looking at would cost in fuel per year. The difference is basically fuck all between most cars, BUT the difference with the 350 IS quite a lot - it's basically double most of the other cars. If I only do 1,000 miles a year, it's something like £300 compared to £150 for most other cars, so about £150 difference, which isn't exactly going to break the bank. But then if I up my mileage to 3,000 a year, it's about £500 more per year than most other cars. That's still not going to bankrupt me but, year on year, it does start to add up a bit. You make a good point in general though - the difference in fuel cost per year between a Z4 and an A3, for example, is fuck all!Comment

Hm, dont know how you came to this calculation
Lets assume the 350Z will consume about 4 liters per 100km more than the Z4, unless you are taking some TDI engine, but still less than 8 liters per 100km is not really doable on a car like that. I would say the 4 liter per 100km difference is quite real.
So thats 100*10=1000km, so 10*4 extra comes to 40L extra which is less than 50EUR where I live. On 10 000 km the difference would be like 500 EUR. 10 000 km per year should be more than enough for a car like this, I doubt you would be driving more, probably less when you mentioned 1000-3000 miles per year. So in your case you could be looking at about 250 eur extra per year ... thats nothing, especially in case yuo can get a 350Z for a lower price than the BMW or Audi.Matuloo.Com - My Affiliate Blog - Making paid traffic work.Comment

I would choose a Porsche Boxter S over a BMW z4. Test both of them and you will see why I say this.
If I wanted sporty with a bit more practicality I would choose a bmw 335I or 325I.
The 335I is a fast car with a 3.0 twin turbo charged engine, about a quick in a straight line as a z4.

Get a Nissian, the higher end ones look sharp and flat out have great power. They last forever too and they don't hardly ever give you issues, one of the best made cars in the world right now in my opinion.

I've drove all the cars you are thinking of and I personally owned a BMW Z4 (I'll attach a pic) and I loved that car. Everything about it was brilliant, fuel consumption is real good too compared to my car before it. Make sure you get the proper model tho, some models have problems. I had the 2.0L Sport Roadster, the best one to have. I bought mine early 2008 and had to sell it last summer since I moved country. If I didn't have to move, Id still have it now, I would also buy the new one as that is outstanding too.
So you know, my best friend has an Audi TT and I've driven it a lot, it doesnt even compare to my Z4, he admitted that himself as well. I also drove the SLK and liked it however at 6' 1" tall I felt uncomfortable in it for every day driving.
