Wasn't this guy saying how he was so proud of making 2k a month or something like that not long ago. He posted some half ass stats that he was bragging about?

Agreed, I'm sure with their tracking ID they could have located the account.

This is the oddest request to WMs I've read in awhile.

Whew! Thank you Grumpy. Nice to find a gem in the mania.

I knew that a slew of negativity was coming (again) from the same large group that seems to dictate to everone what they can and can not do with their business.

The really funny thing is, doesn't anybody here actually read other affiliates postings in regards to the downward spiraling of sales and how "porn is free" and how profits are disappearing?

Why is it that when we are trying to do something about it, we get shit thrown in our faces from some affiliates and from strangers that don't even rep our content? Some of the comments here make no sense at all.

One of the main problems is "over promoting" and releasing too much free content.

There are tons of posts from many webmasters that all agree with this. Free content is ruining your very own business.

Instead of writing nasty posts about one webmaster trying to make a difference, take a few minutes out and try to understand what we are doing.

Affiliates must learn how to use and control they way they advertise our content as well as other site's content.

We are not in the business of "getting surfers off for free." We say, "make them pay for it." If a surfer can Google one of our sites and preview in one location, over 100 pics, then why in the world would this same surfer purchase a membership?

If he is hunting around and can only find a very limited preview of something he is very interested in, then he is more likely to purchase a membership.

We are simply setting some guidelines to limit the amount of exposure of our content to secure future sales for our affiliates as well as ourselves. Of course we are a very small site, and our sales are not huge like other sites, but you will notice we are very steady and do have a nice stream of sales coming in all year long. Site owners understand that most of their sites disappear within the first year do to lack of original content or over promotion.

If more site owners would limit the amount of free content, then they would make more money as well as affiliates selling that same content. We believe affiliates must learn how to tease their traffic, not supply them with enough free content so they can get off for free.

They won't buy the cow if they can get the milk for free.

Please do not condemn us for applying a simple limitation of the usage of our free content.

4 FHG's is more than enough to wet the appetite of any surfer. Letting them preview 100
s of free pics is counter productive and goes against the tease effect which induces sales.

Also, a majority of our affiliates were not upset with this and understand what we are trying to do. We only sent out the 2nd email as a reminder to a small group that ignored our request and or have not made the reduction. We had no idea that some angry person would post our private email and use it to broadcast a hate message with it to invite more haters to post their negative thoughts. We meant no disrespect to those affiliates listed. It was merle a reminder email as after 20 days, we did not get a response from them and our free content was not edited to the proper amounts.

It would be nice to hear from site owner/creators as to their opinions of the usage of their free content.

Please understand we are looking at the future of adults sales and not just this week.

By securing and controlling the over usage and over promotion of our sites, we insure long term sales for ourselves as well as our affiliates. We don't believe the current business model works for our sites as many of you I'm sure feel the same way.

Let's all put the plastic wrappers back over our sites and make the surfers pay to get off.

Site owners must learn to control their content so we can all earn money.

Let's stop giving it all away for free.

Seems like an odd request, but maybe there is some middle ground, this might be a bit much. But if done the right way...

I thought about this more and I have to agree with you on it.

If your content is truly that unique then I can see where you are coming from. And if the galleries are too much, it's wasted bandwidth and money because those surfers aren't converting.

I'd be interested to know the results in a few months if it improved conversions, etc.

I agree with what you said.
But I was quite shocked to receive the email listing other affiliate's sites.
                            That was unnecessary.
