This is one of the hottest search trends on Google right now, coupled with all the anti-government sentiment going on I expect to see more things like this.

Try telling that to Tea Baggers/Republicans/So Called Independents. They'll get all "9/11" on you and start throwing canned statements at you.

Tea Parties core statement is fiscal responsibility, they think the government is too big
Most independents think the government is too big
And under Obama the size of the government has increased more than any other president in 18 months in history. Although under any president the size increases, more and more conservatives are pushing for a smailler government.

was that the canned statement you were looking for?

I looked at a map of my city, I worked on a government office where we had to install bulletproof glass in the doors and bulletproof material in the walls for protection, just one office in a building in the middle of the city

Yeah I don't think everyone treats it like that. But there are a lot of people who do treat it just as a way to get money, which I'm sure we both disagree with.

* Many security and intelligence agencies do the same work, creating redundancy and waste. For example, 51 federal organizations and military commands, operating in 15 U.S. cities, track the flow of money to and from terrorist networks.

kinda goes with the whole waste thing, my daughter got a lot of training, advanced electronics, yet once she got to her ship, it was over a year till she worked in her field.
The military has really changed since I was in, there are so many regulations that to get a good conduct medal takes only 3 years now, it was 4 when I was in, I never got one, long story, my daughter got one

Yeah there are some great training programs for sure. Congrats to her btw.

I think they could shed a lot of waste indeed. The people not really learning anything, and not doing anything with what they've learned after to contribute to our economy. And just suck the money from the system, then continue to leech.

This should come as no surprise to anyone at all really. I'm not all up in the tinfoil hat, but our government has always kept secrets from us.

Where I grew up as a kid there was some kind of secret air force radar installation. We all knew it was there growing up. Where I lived in San Ramon, California, there was a missile base.

And son of a bitch, last year I discovered there is a missile silo on my street a mile from my house - It was shut down thirty years ago, but it's still there.

Here's a screen shot from the air:

And a picture of it being built in the 1960s:

Makes you wonder when you discover it's a mile from your house.

Lol come on way to paint with a broad brush, I dont like some of the tea party movement personally but I am glad people are getting fired up about out of control spending, welfare state practices expanding, and fueling the war machine while destroying the middle class.

Surely you agree that something needs to be done about the American government, its out of control has been for a long time and it is now forcing people to depend on them to get their vote.

The military is one of the few legitimate functions of government.

The money spent on social programs is the real problem. It is mostly waste, fraud, and counter-productive efforts.

Agree, people who rely on the government for their money have it way better off than most of us hard working private sector people.

One of my friends lives with his ghetto ass girlfriend, they have a brand new Ford Explorer, never pay a dime CASH for food, get free health care and dont have to work at all. Their "work" consists of reporting to the welfare office every couple of months.

Shit makes me sick.

According to your "chart" there is 2.8 TRILLION tied up in social programs
National Defense including vet bennies is 1.4 trillion(I even added the non-military national security spending)

While I agree the military expenses are absurd, most of that is because of the wars we are currently fighting, it needs to be cut ALOT and the wars need to end.

But you act as if this country does not have a problem with our social programs, its obviously even by your chart that it is bloated and out of control.

I rail against the right-wing's insistence on blaming "welfare queens" for fraud and abuse when most fraud social programs see is seemingly perpetrated by private industry.

Of course we have a problem with our social programs.. of course they are bloated. But let's not blame the recipient who needs them. let's blame the fuckers pocketing the money.. shall we?

There you go with the broad brush again, so every mom and pop store on the corner is included in your anti-capitalist statement?

Blame the people who work for their money instead of blaming the people who get free help? That doesnt make much sense. Someone HAS to make money my friend.

Regardless the problem lies in our government and legal system not with our safety net or private industries. The government is the enabler to both fraudulent systems.

Wadda ya mean the military IS the largest social program there is! It clothes, feeds, and houses people while also providing education and health care

It was, but Obama beat him by a wide margin, estimates of a 25% increase in the size of the government in the last 18 months and they haven't really even started with the healthcare add-ons and the bank regulatory commissions.
The size of what we are spending in the war effort is a fucking waste, we can't win, we can't profit, we can only spend money we don't have and need to pull out, it's about time for just that

The NAACP had a guest speaker, it was Michelle Obama, the next day, they declared the Tea Party "Racist". It was a political move to bash the Tea Party and help keep Obama's black voters, if you can't see that, you're a fucking moron.
All that matters really? So anyone that doesn't like the Obamanation is a racist, I don't hate him because he's black, I hate Barry Soetoro because has lied to the American People which is nothing new for a president. But I have never seen a president that openly bashes both the votes of American people and the other party like this asshole and that we don't need.
There are over 70 sanctuary cities that are telling the federal government that they are not going to follow the federal immigration laws, in the county of Prince William in Virginia, they have had a law on the books for 3 years that mirrors Arizona's law, with no racial profiles cases, drop in classes for English in a second language and drop in births at the hospitals to uninsured mothers, yet Barry is going after Arizona, not because it's right, but because it sends a message to Latino voters

Now they are stepping up ICE arrests because the democrats are telling Barry that this fight with Arizona is killing them politically

And all this from a guy thats not from the Tea Party, not a Republican, I'm an independant and I won't vote along party lines

Priceless!!

I love how some leftist morons call the Tea Partiers racist. Its rather ironic that the left classifies a whole group of people based on the actions of a very small fraction. But yet facts dont matter when you are trying to slander people.

The creation of this extraordinary spider's-web of intrigue can be dated back to 16 September 2001, a week after the attacks, when George Bush announced from Camp David the launch of what he called a "war on terror". The war would take a while, he warned, and the American people would have to be patient, but he was determined.

What he didn't warn the American people was that nine years later that war would have spawned a gigantic proliferation of agencies and spending unparalleled in US history.

Not only is the system huge and massively expensive, it is also highly inefficient and unwieldy, the Post believes. The official US intelligence budget now stands at $75bn, almost three times its size at 9/11, with 263 new bodies dedicated to rooting out violent extremism.

Has pretty much the look of welfare as tea baggers calls it : inefficient, unwieldy, proliferation, massive ... well, socialism at work ...

Note: hummm, healthcare reform = bad
spying = good

http://www.dni.gov/

more bloat created by BUSH...

It is time to cut these contracts. All this shit is producing nothing at all except a big debt. This was started by BUSH and should end with Obama cutting these private contracts.

Yeah, good luck with that, he attacked the GOP for blocking the vote on extending unemployment benefits because they wanted to know where the money to pay for it was coming from.

too bad Barry can't be like the UK
http://blog.taragana.com/business/20...deficit-72414/

The focus on tackling deficits risks putting Britain, like Europe, at odds with the U.S. at the Group of 20 summit in Canada this weekend. In a letter last week, President Barack Obama urged world leaders not to threaten the global recovery by trimming spending prematurely.

The biggest racist lately is the NAACP and the New Black Panthers, it's not me, I judge people by their actions, always have.

When Barry is worried about votes and the Tea Party, he has the wife go over to the NAACP and stir up shit.

This isn't right wing, this is politics as usual. Putting people against each other and you just became part of it! I thought you were better than that?
