Manwin Official Statement re acquisition of Brazzers
Hi everyone,
I have been in the adult business since 1998 and am a managing partner of the Manwin Group of Companies. Some of you may know me as one of Too Much Media's co-founders and their CTO for the first few years (we parted ways a few years ago), some might know me for my European assets. I would like to put the many conspiracy theories to rest by making an official statement and addressing some of the statements that have ravaging multiple threads over GFY in the past 24 hours.
As the news and press release states, our group of companies has acquired assets of the Mansef group, which includes IP, technology as well as domain names and other assets.
As I have said above, I have been in the industry for a long time, under many brands, and have completed plenty of high level acquisitions which many of the people on this board are familiar with. We are not an "unknown company". We have unified our group of companies under one banner, under the name: Manwin. We chose this name because it allowed us to retain part of the marketing identity of the previous company, while allowing us to put our own touch on it.
Anyone who has dealt with acquisitions in the past will realize that people are the biggest and usually most important asset a company can have, especially in the IT sector. The employees remain largely the same and can still be reached via their old contact info while we transition everything to the new domain which is already active too. Let me assure you that although management did not change, ownership definitely did and we have a long term strategy to remain a leader in the adult marketplace.
We chose to make this announcement today rather than three months ago, because we were concentrating on taking over the assets, as well as establishing a corporate policy which satisfies the new owner and sets a path for the long term outlook that we hold. This includes making many of the changes that have been echoing on the boards, and helping the industry flourish like it once did.
We are still on a path of many acquisitions in this space and will have plenty of announcements in the upcoming months. Also, we now have a fully staffed PR department that will address our public communications going forward.
