I have several businesses not related to porn. Restaurant which is good steady income. I manufacture furniture which is taking a beating because ocean freight costs are out of control. I have a couple of massage parlors that during the season make really nice money(short season tho). And a few other things that bring in some small money.

All in all I can pay some of my bills and eat out when I want. It's about 25% of what I made in the 90's and half of what I made after 9-11. Glad I moved to Indonesia because I hear the US economy is taking it in the ass now.

At the moment, this is the only business bringing money to the table, however, I have taken on full time farming since turning my home into a small organic micro farm which should become a business come harvest time when I can sell veggies at the farmers markets along with some eggs as well. 2011 should be a large growth area due to expansion and the addition of dairy, so we'll also be offering goats milk, goats milk soap and goats milk cheese. In addition to that, we'll be breeding, so will be selling chicks, ducklings and goat kids.

I've been working on a B&M which is still in the planning stages due to lack of venture capital, however, my research indicates I'd have 100% market share for the entire region since the only other sources are online only.

I owned a Gym for a few years, it was the nicest gym in a 20 mile radius. But if they city didn't buy me out for a new city project they were proposed to do at the time, which they never did. I would have lost my ass.

It's a tough business, especially if you are never there.

(also, the only reason I built it was for me to workout, since I hate to. And that didn't help. I think I used the gym once. :1orglaugh)

That is a completely foolish statement.

Ebay is NOT a "mainstream opportunity" for anybody. It WAS a mainstream opportunity for the original guy who thought it up. Which goes right back to what I said earlier that if you got into the online game early like I did...and like the guy who originally came up with Ebay did...then you had the ability to be the first to do something.

But as far as a person jumping into "mainstream" with no money to start up right now...Ebay doesn't represent anything more than a place to start one of tens of thousands of online stores.

I thought we were discussing opportunity for average people with some intelligence to make a living. Not a relative handful of people who made it.

Jesus, I guess we should all quit making 6 figures a year in adult right now because mainstream kicks so much ass! I mean...just look at Google! It's worth billions! There's the proof right there! :1orglaugh

Yeah, why don't all of the folks who keep talking about how great "mainstream" is just go 100% "mainstream" and leave the adult biz that you weren't meant for anyway.

Was rental out all but 2.5 months in all that time..

Problem is in the UK they all these new "HIPS" laws that require things like getting a "Energy Perfomance Certificate" etc. Just more red tape to jump through.
